PlayStation 5 owners finally have a window to circle. Forza Horizon 6 is heading to Sony’s console in 2026, confirmed by the development team itself.
That answers a question left dangling ever since the game was revealed back in 2025.
The wait had no ceiling until now
When the game was first announced, Xbox and PC were slated to go first, with a PS5 version arriving later. The developers said that much, but never attached a timeframe to it — leaving a gap that could plausibly have stretched from a few months out to 2027.
Which is why the confirmation is worth less for what it guarantees than for what it eliminates.
Japan, and how you get there
In a fresh post on the series’ official website, the creators wrote that the trip to Japan will get underway on PS5 later this year. Japan is where Horizon is setting up shop next, and PS5 players won’t be stuck watching from the sidelines.
The store listing has gone live as well. With the game page now up on the PlayStation Store, you can drop it onto your wishlist today and get pinged the second preorders open.
Still no date on the calendar
No specific release date has been given. The year is all there is, and that’s where it ends for now.
There is a sensible venue for the remaining details, though. More could surface at Tokyo Game Show 2026 — neat scheduling for a game making its way to Japan.
What the announcement actually says
The confirmation is tucked into the post’s “What’s Next” section. No trailer, no fanfare — just a single line in a development update settling what months of speculation couldn’t.
The wishlist button is live. The date still isn’t.
