About Star Atlas

Star Atlas is a space strategy game for multiple players built on Solana by ATMTA, Inc., set in a distant-future galaxy where three groups — MUD (humans), ONI (alien alliance) and Ustur (robot consciousness) — fight over space and supplies. Rather than one application, it comprises several interconnected systems: SAGE Labs, a web interface for discovery, resource gathering, manufacturing and ship operations; Faction Fleet, where locked-in ships earn idle payouts; and the Galactic Marketplace, where ships, personnel and modules exchange as NFTs. Since these exist on-chain in your personal account, they continue to exist beyond any single game section.

How to play Star Atlas

Begin at play.staratlas.com: attach your Solana account, choose your side, then buy at least one ship through the Galactic Marketplace before starting in SAGE Labs. Inside SAGE, send fleets to galaxies to extract materials, transport cargo among bases, hunt for deposits and make gear. Actions use real-time durations and burn fuel, food and supplies, making the experience feel more like running an operation than instant-action battle. Testing continues on a public beta, SAGE C4, incorporating warfare, construction sites, land claims, ranks and local rule systems before full rollout.

Star Atlas tokenomics & earning

The financial system uses two Solana tokens. ATLAS functions as the trade currency for ship and supply acquisition and player settlement. POLIS is the governance token, capped at 360,000,000 total; locking it provides DAO ballot strength on ship schedules, money rules and project goals, plus periodic POLIS payoff. Income stems from harvesting, production and trading rather than guaranteed amounts, and SAGE C4 puts drains in the cycle including warship loss and factional Honor systems. Real income varies based on ATLAS rates and constant costs for gas and upkeep, without guarantees.

Editorial Verdict

Star Atlas functions more as a collection of linked Solana systems under a shared universe than one game: SAGE Labs, a web interface for mining, freight and production; Faction Fleet, where pledged ships earn steady income; and the Galactic Marketplace, where vessels, officers and systems move as NFTs in users' private holdings. Fans of dramatic space-opera cinematics should reset expectations up front — what you truly control is a ledger-like operations framework, not a starship simulator.

Strength lies in economic structure. Two Solana tokens partition functions cleanly — ATLAS for buying and selling, POLIS (maxed at 360,000,000) for pledge-backed voice in DAO choices on release order and money rules — and the SAGE C4 beta incorporates real removal channels, including vessel loss in warfare, not merely additions. Weakness is friction at the start: buy a vessel through the shop before anything opens in SAGE, and fleet movements take wall-clock seconds consuming fuel, food and supplies. Profit comes through mining and sales, shifting with ATLAS value and continuous outlays.

Right for experienced players at home with accounts and expense tracking. Skip if you want rapid, immediate gameplay.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I start playing Star Atlas?

Establish an account and connect a Solana-compatible wallet via staratlas.com to start with browser-based leadership features, advancing to fleet oversight and extraction operations. Initial participants typically acquire a starter vessel via purchase or lease through the marketplace.

What are the ATLAS and POLIS tokens used for?

ATLAS serves as the economic medium for buying ships, hardware, supplies and resources, while POLIS enables governance participation through community voting on game direction and territorial development. Both trade on decentralised markets outside the game environment.

How do players earn in Star Atlas?

Primary earnings come from fleet deployment across extraction, logistics and combat operations, plus manufacturing and marketplace dealings for equipment and components. Returns scale with owned equipment, providing variable outcomes without guaranteed profits.

Do I need a crypto wallet to play?

Participation necessitates a Solana wallet like Phantom or Solflare for storing ATLAS, POLIS and ship NFTs plus authorising transactions. Vessels and holdings remain in personal wallet possession instead of company-managed accounts.

Is Star Atlas still being developed?

Continuous development advances the browser strategy interface while the extensive Unreal Engine spatial simulator progresses through planned phases. Enhancement announcements and build information are disclosed via Star Atlas official resources.
