About EVE Frontier
EVE Frontier is a hardcore space survival MMO made by the creators of EVE Online, situated in an isolated frontier region caught between three moving black holes. Players emerge in a devastated frontier, salvaging wreckage from fallen worlds and avoiding feral AI. The universe follows what developers term digital physics: fixed, knowable guidelines where movement, building and warfare consume fuel, making resource allocation essential. The marketplace is wholly participant-controlled—players extract materials, construct goods and conduct business between themselves, with each item recording its origin and history. A cornerstone system is Smart Assemblies, codable installations including supplies, entryways and systems that participants can program, allowing a warehouse to become an automated vendor, payment processor or task-provider. Game information exists on an open ledger rather than private servers, allowing outside parties to examine and construct upon game state. Originally released on an Ethereum L2 using Solidity and the MUD system, EVE Frontier shifted to the Sui network, with Smart Assemblies developed in Move.

How to play EVE Frontier
Entry is through paid Founder Access. Starting normally demands a Founder package from the shop, incorporating skins and subscription credit valid once the game launches commercially. Complimentary test windows intermittently let fresh players enter without purchase. Gameplay takes place across Cycles—fixed-length phases with complete resets at finish, removing all development and commerce and resetting every participant. Progression and activities display in the in-game Mission Hub. Community play drives success: participants organize as Clans or expanded Guilds to hold areas and dominate commerce systems.
EVE Frontier tokenomics & earning
Growth relies on Grace, obtained through challenge completion and application use and exchanged to reach each Cycle's leaderboards. When seasons terminate, Pioneers convert Grace into persistent Points through the Mission Hub. Unlike in-season growth, these Points endure across multiple seasons as a cumulative achievement record, prioritizing constancy across numerous seasons.

EVE Frontier represents CCP Games' next persistent universe design, deliberately separating itself from EVE Online with bolted-on payments. The pocket sector is wedged between three shifting black holes, and direction emphasizes limitation rather than advancement: movement, building and battle all expend fuel, making each decision about whether return is justified by cost. Smart Assemblies comprise the most genuinely novel contribution—user-scripted installations mean a vault becomes a marketplace, checkpoint or assignment source. Game mechanics sit on an open ledger rather than locked databases, making application code and objects it influences available for external expansion.
The barriers are steeper. Founder Access costs funds, the application is intensive, and coding assumes genuine coding experience rather than simple curiosity. Cycles finish in complete erasure—growth is temporary, only accumulated Points carry forward. This appeals to players viewing cooperation and resource management as primary focus, frustrating those after action-focused dogfighting or fast earnings.

Latest News & Updates
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I start playing EVE Frontier?
Buy a Founder Access pack for instant round-the-clock access with cosmetics and post-launch premium time, or wait for periodic free trial windows. Either way, you'll sign up, install the client, and log in to play.
Do I need a crypto wallet or special account to play?
Your wallet is generated when you create a character and accessed via EVE Vault, available as a browser extension or app. CCP holds no copies of your wallet or recovery phrases, so you must protect your 12-word phrase or risk permanent asset loss.
What is the in-game token in EVE Frontier?
You'll work with EVE Tokens and GAS, with starting balances of both on new characters. Your assets exist on-chain in EVE Vault, not inside the game.
How do players earn and progress in EVE Frontier?
Missions and activities award Grace, which you accumulate on leaderboards with your Tribe each Cycle. When a Cycle ends, Grace converts to EVE Points, your permanent contribution score that persists across future Cycles.
Is EVE Frontier still active, and is it worth playing?
Yes, it's running Founder Access with fresh Cycles rolling out (latest is Cycle 6: Sanctuary), though a public launch date hasn't been set. Characters reset between Cycles, so it's for hardcore players who enjoy sandbox space combat and accept restarting progress.
