About Tidefall

What is Tidefall?

Tidefall is a top-down extraction-survival game on Solana, described as "Tarkov crossed with Don't Starve" by the makers. It operates in web browsers and needs a connected Solana wallet — Phantom, Solflare or Backpack, using wallet sign-in instead of passwords or regular accounts. Operators jump into seeded, procedurally generated tunnel maps with other players, combat creatures and other operators, gather resources, and work to flee with loot intact. Anything in your pack vanishes on defeat, turning each run into a gamble between danger and return.

How to play Tidefall

Each session lasts about fifteen minutes. Extraction is active: you trigger a pull-out, pause for an activation window, then guard the zone for twenty continuous seconds — moving away restarts the count. Being killed by a monster, a hazard, the shrinking edge or another player drops your entire inventory for anyone to take. Surviving rewards feed a permanent base called the "Living Island," which grows over time and has work areas, storage and stat boosts. Character development continues to level seventy with a skill tree split into warrior, movement, collector and toughness paths, plus gathering tracks that grow from use.

Tidefall tokens and economics

The economy is community-driven. Equipment converts to gold, and gold changes into the $TIDE token from a shared daily pool whose output falls as more is withdrawn. $TIDE moves off-chain through a treasury system with withdrawal limits, and players spend it back in the game on island growth, random pulls, craft materials and blueprint packages. Trading is player-controlled with public purchase logs. One account per user is required, and the game is free for $TIDE holders.

Is Tidefall worth your time?

Tidefall is a young game: its currency just launched with limited market depth, and game access requires holding $TIDE. Planned updates include two and three-player matching, team members, ship-based navigation and ranked competition — features not yet in the active build.

Pros

  • Player-controlled in-game financial system
  • Free play for $TIDE token holders
  • Runs in browsers without downloads, requiring just a Solana wallet
  • Randomly generated caves provide variety in each expedition
  • Risk-reward loop combining Tarkov-style extraction with Don't Starve survival

Cons

  • Permadeath-style system: lose your bag if extraction fails
  • Free access requires holding the $TIDE token
  • No wallet-free trial option available
  • Polygon-exclusive with no multi-chain support listed

Tidefall is a top-down extraction-survival game operating in browsers on Solana, accessed by signing in with a Phantom, Solflare or Backpack wallet instead of logging in. Expeditions put you into procedurally generated cave zones shared with other operators for around fifteen minutes; you fight creatures and rivals, gather resources, and try to leave before the barrier closes. Dying costs everything you carry, and whoever reaches your body first takes your whole pack.

The design is more thoughtful than the browser framing implies. Extraction is not instant — you trigger a pull-out, sit through an activation phase, then hold the area for twenty uninterrupted seconds, making every retreat a zone that others can attack. Surviving loot feeds a permanent base, the Living Island, with work tables, inventory space and a progression tree spanning warrior, movement, gathering and defense up to level seventy.

The friction is financial. Entry requires holding the $TIDE token, which recently launched with limited available supply, and gold-to-token swaps take from a daily pool that yields less as withdrawal increases — so returns hinge on when others cash out. Multiplayer matching, allies, ocean routes and ranked ladders are unreleased plans. Best for those already wanting a losing-loot loop and accepting an untested token as the door fee.
