YGG’s LOL Land shuts down July 31 — 48 hours left to cash out points and unstake $LOL

yggs lol land shuts down july 31 48 hours left to cash out points and unstake lol In Brief:

In Brief:

  • LOL Land (official site) is switching off for good on July 31, and the team has issued what it described as a final reminder urging players to manually convert in-game points into $YGG and wrap up $LOL unstaking within the app.
  • The shutdown stems from Yield Guild Games‘ July 6 call to sunset YGG Play (official site), a move that eliminated 35 jobs and closed the guild’s game publishing arm.
  • Balances still sitting unprocessed when the clock runs out will be converted automatically and sent to associated wallets after a snapshot — but nobody will be around to help manually once that happens.

Ahead of the July 31 cutoff, LOL Land pushed out a final warning to its player base this week, describing the window as their “absolute last opportunity to manually redeem your in-game points for $YGG and complete your $LOL unstaking directly in the game app.”

There are two tasks on the checklist before the deadline hits. Point balances must be swapped for $YGG via the rewards page using a connected wallet, and any staked $LOL needs to be unstaked from inside the game.

The final reminder is here.
LOL Land goes offline permanently on July 31st. This is your absolute last opportunity to manually redeem your in-game points for $YGG and complete your $LOL unstaking directly in the game app.
Wrap up your balances immediately before time

Sleeping through the deadline doesn’t wipe out holdings. According to YGG Play, compliant balances left unprocessed will be converted automatically and distributed to associated wallets based on a snapshot captured at the cutoff. What disappears is human assistance — no manual support exists past that date.

The wind-down schedule

The shutdown guide went live on July 8, Singapore time. A day later, at 3 p.m. Singapore time on July 9, purchase functions and every platform mission system tied to LOL Land and Waifu Sweeper were turned off.

Platform support ends for good on July 31. From that point, yggplay.fun, the app.yggplay.fun launchpad and the community missions hub at community.yggplay.fun all go offline permanently.

Waifu Sweeper is being retired at the same time as LOL Land. Two titles survive — GIGACHADBAT and Ragnarok Breaker — which stay live under their respective developers, Delabs Games and Planetarium Labs.

Why the publishing arm died

Yield Guild Games confirmed the sunset on July 6, cutting 35 positions and shifting resources toward supplying gaming-derived datasets for AI training.

“Sunsetting YGG Play is a heavy decision, but it is a market decision, not a product decision,” said Yield Guild Games co-founder Gabby Dizon.

Top-line performance wasn’t what sank it. Through Q1 2026, YGG Play had booked north of $9 million in lifetime revenue, with a peak month close to $3 million in October 2025. From there, revenue declined steadily.

Dizon singled out the Oct. 10 liquidation event as a major factor in eroding market confidence — and along with it, the liquidity of the casual degen crowd YGG Play was designed around. The 10/10 crash, the company said, fundamentally altered retail market psychology, and it saw neither the crypto consumer market nor the web3 publishing market bouncing back sufficiently in the near term.

“I am proud of what this team achieved under such tough conditions,” Dizon said. “Although this business unit is sunsetting, YGG’s vision and mission hasn’t changed. We are still fully dedicated to using technology to open up new economic opportunities for people globally.”

What LOL Land was

LOL Land began life as YGG Play’s proof of concept. Building on that success, the unit went on to sign nine more games, strike a partnership with Pudgy Penguins and roll out a token launchpad.

The game’s loyalty and reward token was $LOL, engineered to drive a VIP system in which staking unlocked perks, raised withdrawal ceilings and opened up premium gameplay. It was intentionally a DEX-only asset with no exchange listings on the roadmap. $YGG, by contrast, remains the ecosystem token traded on both centralized and decentralized venues — and it’s the destination for converted points.

The AI turn

As of the close of Q1, YGG’s treasury sat at $20.6 million, $6.2 million of which was held in stablecoins, T-bills and large-cap tokens. Shutting the publishing unit and restructuring extended the runway out to four years.

Its new business line sells gaming behavioral data to AI labs building world models — systems trained to understand how physical and 3D environments behave, useful in robotics and for creating in-game agents that operate without scripts. As Dizon put it, the guild’s community “can generate these behavioral datasets just by playing.”

The guild has already hosted an AI Game Jam and, on July 13, launched Vibecode.Game, a creator contest platform aimed at AI-assisted game development.

Both the token and the core organization live on. Crypto layoffs have topped 5,000 so far in 2026, with firms pointing to the market slump and a pivot toward AI.

Dizon pushed back on reading the closure as a judgment on the wider sector, describing it as “specific to our circumstances” and “not prescriptive for the industry,” while pointing to Axie, Gigaverse and OnChain Heroes as teams still making it work.
