Ragnarok Games has officially announced the early access launch of BloodLoop, a new free-to-play 5v5 hero shooter, arriving exclusively on the Epic Games Store on June 23.
The game blends fast-paced multiplayer action with optional blockchain features and kicks off with a $15,000 play-to-airdrop tournament to reward early players. Backed by $4 million in funding, BloodLoop aims to bring tactical gameplay, sci-fi storytelling, and player incentives into one package.
Three Game Modes and Distinct Heroes
BloodLoop is set in the year 2191, where three factions fight for control of their dying planet. Instead of all-out war, they agree to settle their battles in a virtual arena known as the BloodLoop.
Players can choose from three game modes at launch: Team Deathmatch, Energy War, and Free-For-All. These modes allow solo or team-based play, with the main format being 5v5.
The game introduces five starting heroes, each with unique skills and roles. For example, Wendigo focuses on tracking enemies, Qatil brings speed and stealth, and Steve offers comic relief while staying competitive. These champions add variety and tactical depth to team compositions.
Play-to-Earn Model with Leaderboard Pass
To encourage competitive play from the start, Ragnarok Games is launching a Seasonal Leaderboard Tournament. Players can join by purchasing a $9.99 pass using the game’s native token, $BLS. Seventy-five percent of the revenue from these passes will go into the prize pool. While the starting pool is $15,000, it could grow to $130,000 if enough players participate.
Player rankings are based on matchmaking ratings (MMR), and the top 20 percent of participants will earn rewards. The tournament format encourages skill-based progression while giving even mid-tier players a chance to win. Exclusive digital collectibles, made in collaboration with Avalanche and OpenSea, are also being released to mark the launch.
Web3 Optional, Gameplay First
Although built with blockchain integration, BloodLoop keeps these features optional. Players can collect and craft digital items like skins and gear, which can be linked to the blockchain for ownership. However, those who prefer a standard gaming experience can enjoy the full game without interacting with Web3 tools.
A crafting system also allows players to earn and create cosmetic items, adding a layer of personalization. The game’s first season will last one month and focus on competition, fairness, and steady progression. New content, including missions, rewards, and champions, is planned for future updates.
