The Sandbox Launches “Next”
The Sandbox, a leading figure in the crypto metaverse space, has announced the launch of its new mobile game titled “Next.” This battle royale game is engineered using the advanced capabilities of Unreal Engine to ensure a dynamic player-versus-player (PVP) experience. Among standout features, the game integrates auto-aim and auto-shoot, enhancing playability on mobile devices.
Game Features and Maps
“Next” will debut with two maps named ‘The Desert’ and ‘The City.’ The Desert is designed for long-range combat, offering vast open spaces conducive to strategic play. Conversely, The City caters to more intense, close-quarter battles with its vertical urban landscape. Each map supports up to 20 players in both solo and multiplayer formats and maintains The Sandbox’s unique, blocky graphics style to ensure visual continuity and appeal.
Integrated Gameplay and Rewards
A key aspect of “Next” is its integration with The Sandbox ecosystem, allowing players to transfer their identities, progression, and assets seamlessly between “Next” and other games on the platform. This interconnectedness is seamless and promotes a unified gaming experience. Additionally, players engaging in daily quests can earn NFTs, with a special reward — a unique duck avatar — available to those collecting all four daily NFTs.
Strategic Expansion
Robby Yung, CEO of The Sandbox, shared insights on the broader implications of launching “Next.” He stated, “Like our recent launch of WebGL games, Next is part of our plan to increase the reach of The Sandbox so players can discover, play and come back more often, whether they’re on desktop or on their phone.” This strategic move underlines The Sandbox’s commitment to expanding its user base and adapting to diverse gaming preferences and platforms.
Upcoming Playtest
The upcoming playtest for “Next” is a pivotal part of the game’s development, offering players a chance to explore its features from March 26th until April 5th. Player feedback during this phase will be crucial for refining the game ahead of its broader release. Interested players need to register by March 25th to participate in this playtesting opportunity.
