Animoca Brands: The Launch of Anime Foundation

Animoca Brands, San FranTokyo, and the popular anime community platform MyAnimeList have announced the creation of the Anime Foundation. This new initiative combines traditional and Web3 technologies to enhance the anime and manga experience worldwide. With support from Animoca Brands Japan, the Anime Foundation intends to transform how fans engage with content, creators, and each other.

Anime ID: Mocaverse Alliance with the Anime Foundation

Anime Foundation will collaborate with Mocaverse to introduce the Realm Network, a sophisticated infrastructure that supports a decentralized identifier (DID) known as Anime ID. This initiative will facilitate a seamless transition for fans from conventional platforms to the dynamic sphere of Web3. Anime ID is designed to enhance community engagement through unique monetization avenues and robust content distribution, ensuring creators are aptly rewarded while offering fans unprecedented access to exclusive content.

Empowering Creators and Fans Alike

MyAnimeList and Animoca Brands Japan have joined forces to attract talent from the anime and manga sectors. Meanwhile, Animoca Brands and San FranTokyo will use their Web3 infrastructure to introduce new fan engagement models.

The project’s broad vision promises a future where distribution is more effective and the global community of fans enjoys greater ownership and involvement in the anime and manga culture. Anime Foundation plans to deploy Anime ID across various Web3 interfaces, including gaming and social platforms, powered by the extensive Moca Network.

Executive Insights

Yat Siu, the co-founder of Animoca Brands, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, emphasizing the foundation’s potential to champion a global anime culture revolution. He stated: “We are thrilled to be a launch partner of Anime Foundation, which we envision as the spearhead to champion anime culture globally. Anime Foundation has strong potential to establish itself as a major universal network of on-chain identity, experiences and economies. Rather than focusing on just a few IPs or brands, the foundation will spur the development of a comprehensive and inclusive anime-verse, a Web3 powered ecosystem for on-chain anime and manga culture based on powerful network effects and digital property rights.”

Atsushi Mizoguchi, CEO of MyAnimeList, also shared optimism about the project’s ability to enhance the distribution of manga globally and discover new anime phenomena. He noted: “We are excited to be a launch partner of Anime Foundation and support it from both a Web2 and Web3 angle via our industry networks. Animoca Brands Japan uses Web3 technology to enable better fan experiences for Japanese IPs and content, and our collaboration with Anime Foundation seeks to enrich the global anime community. Together, we look forward to creating remarkable anime content and fostering deeper connections with fans around the world.”
