Ubisoft’s iconic game, Assassin’s Creed, just announced an exciting twist to the world of collectibles. They’re launching a unique collection of physical 3D-printed cubes, each one linked to an NFT (non-fungible token).
The collection is set to go live tomorrow, May 16. It features a combo of physical and digital elements, aptly named “Smart Collectibles.” In real life, you’re looking at 3D-printed cubes with character figures snug inside. Each item is secured by Authentic Vision and a near-field communication tag that’s connected to the same address as its digital counterpart, known as a “Digital Soul.”
To get your hands on the physical pieces, you first need to buy a Digital Soul NFT, available in two different rarity levels. Once you’ve got your NFT, you can style your token by choosing an outfit, weapon, and pose. It’s all about expressing yourself and showing off your unique character.
But the fun doesn’t stop there. If you manage to score a Digital Soul NFT on launch day, you’ll get to use the game’s “Customizer” feature to tweak it to your heart’s content. Your token will be available for editing on a 3D page in the Customizer.
Then, once you’re happy with your digital collectible, you can order a physical 3D-printed Smart Collectible version. Just add your shipping info, place your order, and voila!
And if that wasn’t cool enough, there’s an app for interacting with your characters and enjoying a rewarding collector experience. This nifty app lets physical collectible owners earn utilities like “items, recipes, loot boxes” when they complete achievements. Plus, as an owner of these “unique limited-edition” Digital Soul NFTs, you’ll have access to exclusive perks like pass-only discounts and early access to future drops.
