Axie Infinity has introduced a new Chrome extension named Axie Pals. This extension enables Axie owners to nurture their digital pets in a manner reminiscent of the classic Tamagotchi toys, offering a fresh way to interact with their NFTs beyond the conventional gaming environment.
Developed by Kindred, a team known for its expertise in virtual companions, Axie Pals offers a straightforward yet engaging experience. Users can choose up to three Axies to interact with by feeding, petting, and even putting them to sleep, all while browsing the web. This interaction not only increases the enjoyment of owning Axies but also integrates daily internet use with playful digital pet care.
One of the extension’s compelling features is the ability to earn AXP, Axie Infinity’s in-game currency, through both active and passive interactions with the Axies. The more users engage with their digital pets, the more AXP they can earn, based on a “Care Index” that monitors the attention each Axie receives.
Additionally, Axie Infinity has introduced a leaderboard to foster a competitive spirit among users, offering AXS tokens as rewards for those who top the rankings in caring for their Axies. A referral system also incentivizes users to invite friends!
