Big Time has launched a new in-game competition called “Christmas in July,” giving players the chance to win part of a 1.2 million $BIGTIME token prize pool.
The event runs until July 28 at 6 PM UTC and invites participants to craft specific items and complete weekly challenges in order to rank among the top 200 players on the leaderboard.
Event Overview
This limited-time event is one of the game’s biggest yet, doubling the rewards from its previous crafting event. Players earn points by crafting select in-game items and participating in weekly missions. The top scorer will receive 50,000 $BIGTIME tokens, worth over $2,600 at current rates.
The event also marks the return of festive-themed weapons, armor, and crafting recipes from previous holiday seasons, alongside seasonal currency called Snowflakes.
Crafting System and Rewards
Players must craft eligible items using $BIGTIME tokens or a combination of tokens and Time Crystals, a premium in-game currency.
Craftable items include a wide variety of festive gear, from common to legendary rarity. Each crafting recipe has a limited supply, so players are encouraged to act fast. Importantly, this event allows players to choose between different crafting methods for the first time, adding more flexibility to the play-to-earn strategy.
Weekly Challenges and Bonus Points
The event also features rotating weekly challenges with bonus rewards. The first challenge runs through July 7 and includes two missions: opening Scarecrow chests and crafting rare weapons.
Completing both missions can earn players up to 16,500 leaderboard points, giving them a strong push toward a winning position.
How to Join and What You Need
To participate, players must own certain NFTs that enable crafting, including SPACE (virtual land) and Workshop NFTs like the Smoldering Forge or Shrouded Armory.
These assets are available for purchase on the Open Loot marketplace using $BIGTIME tokens, USDC, or fiat payment methods through services like Coinbase and MoonPay. A Windows PC is required to play the game, with minimum system requirements including 8 GB of RAM and a GTX 1060 or equivalent GPU.
