About Gangster Arena
Overview
Gangster Arena is an on-chain strategy title where you lead a criminal organization, boost your gang's reputation and reach the top of the leaderboard to win ETH prizes when each season ends. The core loop is building and managing your gang, fighting in territory wars, and expanding your influence across the map. You acquire and upgrade Gangsters, Goons, and Safehouses to grow your resources and reputation. The game thrives on competition: your reputation ranking determines where you stand, and the full economy resets each season, distributing rewards based on your final position.

Gameplay and Features
Gangsters: Gangsters are the backbone of your organization. They generate $GREED, the game's currency, and partake in gang wars to win extra rewards. Each Gangster yields 800 $GREED per day, plus earnings from gang wars. Reputation points come from each Gangster at 8 per unit. Prices shift based on recent market demand, following a set formula. Upgrading a Gangster increases its daily output by 1% per level, with costs based on the level you're upgrading to.

Goons: Goons act as assistants to your Gangsters, farming xGREED, an off-chain currency. Each Goon earns 800 xGREED daily and contributes 2 reputation points. Like Gangsters, Goon costs rise and fall with recent purchases. xGREED is the currency for buying Goons and Safehouses, upgrading Gangsters and Safehouses, and improving other aspects of gameplay. You can swap xGREED for $GREED at a 1:1 rate, though a five-day cooldown applies to conversions.

Safehouses: Safehouses boost your gang's reputation significantly. Each Safehouse adds 8 reputation points and costs fluctuate with market activity. These structures also enhance how much your Gangsters can earn. The default capacity is 20 Gangsters per Safehouse, growing by 20 with each upgrade level. Safehouse upgrades follow a level-based cost system.
Gang Wars: Gang Wars are fights between rival gangs where you send Gangsters to earn, protect or raid. In earn mode, Gangsters accumulate $GREED with bonuses from Goons. Defend mode lets you block raids and kill attacking Gangsters while collecting defense points. Raid mode lets you steal $GREED from others and gain reputation equal to the defender's rank. Conflicts settle every 12 hours on a fixed schedule, creating a strategic planning component.
Leaderboards and Reputation
Reputation drives your position on the leaderboards in Gangster Arena. It sets your ranking and decides the rewards you receive at season's end. Reputation grows from in-game activities, and higher rankings translate to larger payouts. At each season's close, the economy wipes and prize pools distribute based on final standings.
Blockchain Integration
Gangster Arena runs on the Blast Blockchain, adding extra rewards for players. You get 100% of Blast Points and Blast Gold from the Blast L2 network, as well as U Points to unlock $U rewards from the Uncharted Foundation. These payouts scale with your in-game reputation, so a stronger gang means more earnings outside gameplay.
$GREED is an ERC20 token for buying units and structures, earned during play and tradeable for ETH. xGREED stays off-chain but converts to $GREED at a 1:1 ratio after a cooldown. A daily spin mechanic lets you risk $GREED to win more or gain Safehouses, earning one spin every two hours up to ten max. Holding $GREED also earns xGREED each day.
Recent Development
Season 5 brought Thugs, a free unit for newcomers that doesn't break existing balance. Thugs generate $POOR, spent on new units or exclusive auction items. Midseason leaderboards now let players compete for 35% of the prize pool, making the race more fluid. With over $50,000 in total rewards spanning ETH and millions of $GREED, climbing early pays off.

Gangster Arena is a browser-launched economic strategy game on Ethereum where gameplay is defined by spreadsheets rather than action. You purchase Gangsters, Goons and Safehouses; each generates fixed daily $GREED or xGREED and contributes a set reputation value; your reputation places you on the leaderboard that settles payouts at season end. Gang Wars — earn, defend or raid — happen on a 12-hour tick rather than in real-time, making this a game of preparation, not reflexes.
What works is legibility. Unit costs shift predictably with recent purchases over the previous 12 hours, upgrades follow published formulas, and xGREED converts to $GREED 1:1 after a cooldown. Season 5's free Thugs unit lets new players skip the initial buy-in, and midseason leaderboards spread rewards rather than loading them all on the final day.
What does not work is persistence. The game only runs during seasons and the entire economy resets when one ends, so progress is temporary by design. It suits players who like number-crunching and competitive ranking, and will frustrate those wanting real-time play or long-term advancement.
