The guide summed it up this way: “Reckoning launches October 13, and it’s a big one: 87 new cards, four pack tiers, twelve variants in the wild, and the Squeaklings making another round.”
The card pool
The cards are split evenly across the six domains. Death, Deception, Light, Magic, Nature and War each get 12, and the remaining 15 are Neutral.
The rarity breakdown is 27 Commons, 21 Rares, 21 Epics and 18 Legendaries. The set includes no Mythics at all.
Age of Ascent, the mini expansion released last October, took a different approach. Its 24 cards came with six Mythic Variants, each a 1-of-1 Legendary with its own art.
Four tiers, one new at the top
Packs are on sale for four weeks, from Oct. 13 to Nov. 10. Each pack contains six cards.
At the entry level, $1.99 Booster packs are weighted toward Commons. Premium packs cost $19.99, hold only Rares or better, and guarantee one Epic and one Legendary. Shiny packs sell for $199.99 and contain nothing below Epic.
Mega Shiny is the new top tier, priced at $249.99. It has everything a Shiny pack has, plus a guaranteed high-shine Legendary.
Recent sets stopped at three tiers. The Waking Plague, a 46-card set released June 16, came in Regular, Premium and Shiny packs, with supply capped at 20,000, 1,250 and 400 packs respectively. The Reckoning guide gives no supply cap for any tier.
Variants by pack
Each of the 12 alternate-art Legendary variants can only be found in certain pack types.
Three are in Booster packs: Harald Until Death, Rear Admiral Thibbs and Divya No Longer. Two are in Premium packs: The Bishop and The Swollen Terror.
Shiny packs have three more: Vesper Relentless Adjudicator, The Amorphous Mass and Ella Combat Painter. Mega Shiny holds one exclusive variant, What Glorious Fortune.
Promos and discounts
The Squeaklings promo line returns. The guide describes the six cards as “one per kid, appearing in Premium, Shiny, and Mega Shiny packs through the rest of 2026.” Squeaklings were also in The Waking Plague’s Premium and Shiny packs.
Reckoning also brings a packable Legendary Promo, the first of its kind that can be found in every pack tier.
Divine Tithings is also staying. According to the guide, players can “Burn existing cards for up to 35% off a single pack purchase.”
Background
Reckoning is the third expansion of 2026. Roots of Ruin arrived first on Feb. 17 with 44 cards and introduced the Everborn tribe. The Waking Plague came next in June.
The launch keeps up the game’s habit of an October release. Tides of Fate came out in October 2023, Tower of Dread on Oct. 10, 2024, and Age of Ascent on Oct. 21, 2025.
In its March 2026 newsletter, the studio said design work on the next expansion was locked. It added that the full set had moved into system testing and balancing ahead of schedule.
Players don’t need to open their packs right away. As the guide put it, “Reckoning packs are NFTs you can hold, trade, or open whenever you’re ready.”
