One of the things you’ll be able to do in GTA 6 is visit the zoo. You won’t be robbing it or letting the animals loose. You’ll just be there to see them up close, the way anyone might spend a day off.
The zoo was one of several side activities that Rockstar Games officially confirmed in a new magazine feature about Grand Theft Auto VI. Earlier reveals covered the game’s dynamic weather system and a new set of screenshots. This time the studio focused on what players can do between crimes.
Pool, putt-putt and a jet ski
Most of the confirmed activities are relaxed ones. Players can shoot pool, work out at the gym, go kayaking or play a round of mini-golf. Scuba diving is also in, and it uses specialized gear.
There are faster options too. You can take part in street races and off-road races, or ride a jet ski across the water, which shows the usual GTA spirit hasn’t gone anywhere.
Rockstar described this as a partial list. The studio confirmed that the game has many more activities but hasn’t revealed them yet. Nothing outside this lineup has been announced, so be skeptical of any other supposedly “confirmed” activity you see online.
The zoo makes more sense once you see the animal count
The wildlife numbers are what make the zoo matter. According to Rockstar, GTA 6 will feature more than 170 animal species. Among them are 60 kinds of birds and 30 mammals, along with a range of fish and reptiles.
Rockstar said the ocean will be especially crowded, with several species of sharks, whales, rays, turtles, jellyfish and more. That makes the scuba gear a lot more tempting, and it looks like someone at the studio wanted players to spend real time underwater.
GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
