Illuvium Raises $12M to Expand its Gaming Offering and Focus on Player Experiences

lluvium has successfully secured a $12 million Series A funding round. This financial milestone is reserved for developing an innovative, interoperable NFT gaming universe, often dubbed the “Pokemon for NFTs.” This exciting initiative aims to provide gamers with a unique experience where they can transport their in-game assets seamlessly across multiple gaming platforms.

Funding and Vision

The Series A funding round was spearheaded by a consortium of leading venture capital firms, including King River Capital, Arrington Capital, Spartan Capital, and Animoca Capital, alongside other notable participants such as P2 Ventures, Nomura’s Laser Digital, 32-Bit, and Seven Capital.

Illuvium has recently secured a new round of funding, but this isn’t their first rodeo. The company had previously raised $10 million in a venture round led by Framework Ventures in May 2023, which means they have now raised a total of $60 million. This new injection of funds will be used to support the launch of Illuvium’s first series of interconnected games, which are scheduled to be released in the second quarter of 2024. The games are expected to provide players with a unique gaming experience by allowing them to use the same NFTs across various titles, thereby enhancing gameplay continuity and immersion.

A New Gaming Experience

The core of Illuvium’s innovative offering is a trio of interconnected game titles that share the same NFTs, enabling a seamless gaming experience across the board. This approach not only fosters a greater sense of community among players but also elevates the value of in-game assets by making them versatile across multiple gaming environments.

Illuvium’s commitment to its community is further demonstrated by its unique revenue-sharing model, which allocates 100% of in-game revenues to staked investors, using the platform’s native token, $ILV. This model has evidently resonated well with the gaming community, as evidenced by the platform amassing over a million registered users, all eagerly awaiting the game’s launch.
