In Brief:

  • On September 26, Infinity Rising rolled out version 0.4.5, called “To the Clouds,” bringing Free Flight along with a fresh seasonal questline.
  • The patch adds a volumetric cloud system, harvesting of surface resources, and new mechanics for gear load.
  • This release pushes the game further along its progression toward Alpha, broadening both its gameplay systems and the ways players can explore.

New features in Infinity Rising

Free Flight is the headline addition in Infinity Rising’s version 0.4.5, which became available on September 26 and substantially widens the game’s mechanics. Ships not built for racing can now be taken into the air, with players collecting them from Nexus Aero terminals before heading out to explore the skies.

The Atmos Juggernaut, Bubblejett Prima, and Core Dynamics Cirrus LX are among the flying ships now supported. Overhead, the skies look better too, thanks to volumetric clouds and upgraded atmospheric effects that add to the feeling of scale and immersion.

Resource harvesting expands gameplay

Back on the ground, version 0.4.5 introduces tree cutting and surface mining. General Stores now stock tools such as Rando’s Timber Beast and the Mine Hound. Every Solace area contains three surface mining locations, giving players more room to gather resources and feeding into the game’s crafting and building side.

Season of the Shadows unveils new questline

“Season of the Shadows,” the new seasonal questline, is built around observation and discovery. Using photographic clues, players track down hidden areas scattered across the game world, which in turn lead to special boss encounters and unique rewards. It fits neatly with the update’s emphasis on exploration, bigger skies, and more detailed environments.

The new season also brings Rifts Enforcers into play, adding an extra layer of challenge inside Solace.

Gear load mechanics implemented

Gear has been reworked as well, with new load and armor rating systems. What players equip now affects both how well they are protected and how they move, so combat and exploration call for more strategic preparation. A True First Person mode deepens immersion, while a revamped inventory system lets players examine items and gear in detail.

Test drives and stability improvements

Anyone curious about hoverbikes can try them without owning one, as Free HOVA test drive bikes are available across the development build. On the technical side, version 0.4.5 tackles stability problems, including fixes to login continuity and hover physics.

Development timeline and future updates

The release keeps up Infinity Rising’s steady development pace, coming after earlier updates that brought player housing, careers, and underground environments.

Developed by Cornucopias Technology, Infinity Rising is an open world sandbox MMO in which players can take part in a wide range of activities, from exploration to crafting. The game runs on its own RISE token, and early access is offered through a Boarding Pass system.

With the Season of the Shadows questline now underway, anticipation is building over what lies beneath the surface of this expansive universe.
