Intergalactic Gaming Integrates Chainlink VRF for Provably Random NFT Distributions

IGG Chainlink

We are incredibly excited to announce that Intergalactic Gaming has integrated Chainlink Verifiable Randomness Function (VRF) on Polygon mainnet. By integrating Chainlink’s industry-leading decentralized oracle solution into the IGGalaxy platform, we now have access to a verifiable source of randomness needed to help distribute NFTs to users in a provably fair manner. Ultimately, this creates a more exciting, fun, and transparent gaming experience for users, as they can independently audit the integrity of how NFTs are collected and earned by users.

Chainlink VRF offers a level of functionality that is not only technically brilliant, but that champions digital art by adding a creative dimension of entropy to our user experience. It is essential to us that the randomness used in NFT processes is held to the highest standards of fairness and transparency, which Chainlink VRF is able to provide to our ecosystem.

How Will IGGalaxy use Chainlink VRF?

The team at IGGalaxy has created a series of platform-specific NFTs that we are introducing  into our ecosystem, which users can collect or, in the near future, use as a part of the IGGalaxy tournament prize pools. In the first instance, we will be using the Chainlink VRF to distribute prizes to our community over the course of 12 days leading up to Christmas!

The frequency at which the NFTs are distributed as well as which NFTs are distributed to IGGalaxy users requires a Random Number Generator (RNG) solution that is un-exploitable and auditable by all users. Unfortunately, most traditional RNG solutions are opaque and difficult to prove they are unequivocally fair. It’s why we selected Chainlink VRF, a secure and verifiable RNG solution.

We are confident in Chainlink VRF because it’s founded upon cutting-edge academic research and a time-tested oracle network that already helps secure tens of billions of dollars for smart contracts. Each random number generated by Chainlink VRF is accompanied by a cryptographic proof that is verified on the blockchain to prove that the process was tamper-proof—something not possible in current RNG technologies.

The process offers IGGalaxy users publicly verifiable assurances that our application is running fairly when incorporating randomness in on-chain functions. This allows us to move into the next phase of development knowing that the integrity of NFT distribution is secure and supports an optimal user experience.

“We are incredibly excited to be integrating Chainlink VRF into the IGGalaxy platform. The world of NFTs is one that we have long wanted to enter, but in order to ensure a seamless and truly fair user experience, we needed to be able to provide a level of transparency that we have prided ourselves on in every other aspect of our  business. Thanks to Chainlink VRF, we are now able to do this for NFT distribution.” – Josh Robson, CEO of Intergalactic Gaming.

About Chainlink

Chainlink is the industry standard for building, accessing, and selling oracle services needed to power hybrid smart contracts on any blockchain. Chainlink oracle networks provide smart contracts with a way to reliably connect to any external API and leverage secure off-chain computations for enabling feature-rich applications. Chainlink currently secures tens of billions of dollars across DeFi, insurance, gaming, and other major industries, and offers global enterprises and leading data providers a universal gateway to all blockchains.
