Moonfrost launch date set
October 12 is the day Moonfrost from Oxalis Games lands in Steam Early Access. The studio confirmed the $14.99 price tag on September 29, together with a fresh trailer.
Player feedback will keep steering Early Access, influencing the world, the story, and the village before the full version ships.
Features available at launch
About 50 percent of the main storyline is included in Moonfrost’s first build. Players can push through the Temple as far as Level 19 and take on new puzzles. Eleven NPCs can be befriended, and those relationships can grow to Level 3.
Rebuilding sits at the heart of the experience. Step by step, players clear away debris, fix up the streets, and bring the village back to life.
Enhancements in Early Access
Quality of life upgrades and more customization options arrive with the Early Access release. Among them are broader character customization, a new in-game map, reworked quest tracking, and extra crafting puzzles for decor.
The team sees launch as only the beginning, with further story content, characters, and features planned over the course of Early Access.
Continuous updates from the development team
The news follows months of updates posted on Steam. On July 27, a demo localized in Japanese went out. In August, dev diaries showcased improvements to NPC routines and new pixel art.
Looking back on four years of development on September 10, the team said its aim had never changed: building a rich world packed with engaging stories and characters.
With launch day drawing closer, the demo is still available on Steam.
Transition from web3
Moonfrost’s web3 chapter closes with the Steam release. The project first teamed up with Open Loot in March 2025, but moved away from blockchain once it concluded it could not serve web2 and web3 players well at the same time.
There will be no crypto, NFTs, or blockchain elements in the Steam version, which concentrates purely on gameplay. Web3 backers can still take part via Frost Arcade, where certain in-game items remain usable in multiplayer modes.
