OpenSea’s mobile app is now open to anyone on iOS and Android, ending its beta period.

we’re opening the opensea app to the public today. three big things about this launch:
social trading is now open
social trading is here, but it’s fragmented. what’s done in public on one app just lives on that app. onchain social graphs and profiles should be aggregated, open,Devin Finzer | dfinzer.eth | openseaView on X ↗
A single portfolio view covers several wallets and more than 25 blockchains. Cross-chain trades happen without users having to bridge assets or select a network on their own.
Social trading across platforms
The headline feature is social trading. OpenSea’s feed imports trader profiles and transaction histories from FOMO, Pump and Farcaster, so users can follow those traders and keep tabs on what their wallets are doing.
To claim a profile, a trader imports their wallets. They decide which wallets appear publicly and can pick an NFT to use as their onchain avatar.
In a post on X, OpenSea co-founder and CEO Devin Finzer described the feature as a fix for a problem in the way social trading currently works.
“we’re opening the opensea app to the public today,” Finzer said. “social trading is here, but it’s fragmented. what’s done in public on one app just lives on that app.”
The same post said “onchain social graphs and profiles should be aggregated, open,” in his words.
According to the company’s launch release, OpenSea “pulls in trading activity from across crypto apps and platforms, so users can follow friends and top traders and see their moves no matter where they trade.”
Signals and filtering
OpenSea Signals gives traders a way to explain a purchase. “With OpenSea Signals, anyone can attach a note to a purchase explaining their reasoning, which travels with the trade to everyone who follows them, so followers see not just what someone bought, but why,” the release said.
Some users wanted the option to block traders coming from particular platforms. Finzer replied that filtering by platform already works and that more advanced filters are on the way soon.
Upcoming updates, he said, will bring better content recommendations to the feed, extra customization options and easier collaborative trading. Finzer said cross-chain liquidity, real-time pricing and reliable execution are the foundation of the app.
Onboarding and fees
According to OpenSea, a new user can get set up in under a minute using an email and Apple Pay. There’s no seed phrase or exchange account needed to sign up. The app is self-custodial, which means no one else holds users’ assets.
Apple Pay can also be used to create and fund a new wallet. Users who already have wallets can import and link them to see every asset in one place.
There’s no end date on the referral program. Signing up with a friend’s code earns a permanent 10% discount on trading fees, and whoever sent the invite receives 25% of the fees that new user generates.
Staged rollout
Months of gated access came before the public release. In June 2026, OpenSea started handing out early access, beginning with holders of Pudgy Penguins PENGU $0.008098 ▲ +3.8% and Lil Pudgys. An earlier phase had already distributed 1,476 early access keys.
OpenSea started in 2017 as the first NFT marketplace. The company says it has handled billions of dollars in transaction volume across 25+ blockchains.
“OpenSea Mobile is that bet paying off,” Finzer said in the release. “We helped millions of people take their first step into digital ownership, and we built this app to help millions more.”
