Bored Ape Yacht Club said in a Wednesday post that the Other Games crew will run this week’s Meet at the Clubhouse, using the session to lay out its plans for Saturday’s Mutant Ape Yacht Club anniversary.
According to BAYC, the team “is pulling up to talk about what’s happening in @OthersideMeta, what they’ve been building, what’s coming next, and what they have in store to celebrate the Mutant anniversary this Saturday.”

The Mutant collection hits its fifth year this week. Yuga Labs put out the 20,000-piece set on Aug. 28, 2021, dividing it between a public Dutch auction with a 3 ETH starting price and a Mutant Serum airdrop that allowed Bored Ape owners to mutate the apes they already held. The auction accounted for one half of the supply and serum for the other, with every Mutant inheriting a mutated version of its parent ape’s traits.
Saturday, the date of the anniversary, happens to be Other Games’ regular weekly slot.
Who Other Games is
Other Games is a community-run series of events staged inside Otherside. Its programming spans races, hide-and-seek and so-called chaos trials, all on a consistent Saturday 3 p.m. ET schedule.
By the group’s own telling, it began with a broken bubble glitch and a pair of “internet idiots” deciding to play some games. Since then it has put on events at HyperX in Las Vegas and collaborated with brands outside the ecosystem.
Among its activations are a five-a-side futbol format constructed inside Otherside, an in-person gaming setup for ApeFest, and crossover nights alongside Okay Bears, the Dead King Society builder network and Ape Church.
First Deed and the dev kit
The first world produced with the Otherside Development Kit, “First Deed,” came from Other Games. Design duties on the canyon build went to the artist known as tropicalvirtual, who signed on with the group as world builder and lead artist.
“I’m joining the @OtherGamesXYZ team as their official world builder and lead artist to oversee the next wave of emergent games on @OthersideMeta,” tropicalvirtual said.
That same ODK toolset underpins Bathroom Blitz, an 8v8 shooter, along with Outbreak, a zombie infection game where a single player starts with the plague and must spread it to everyone else before the clock expires. Outbreak dropped the tokengate, departing from earlier experiences restricted to holders of Bored Ape, Meebits, Koda, Moonbirds and Voyager.
Roughly 1,000 assets pulled from 29 in-game biomes ship with the kit, as does an AI assistant named Koda Agent that builds 3D environments from text commands instead of code.
Where Otherside stands
On Nov. 12, Yuga launched the Koda Nexus, a central hub housing the Koda Temple and portals leading to the other experiences. No Otherdeed or wallet is needed to get in — a browser and an email address are enough.
December saw the company purchase the Unreal Engine platform powering Otherside from Improbable, with a large share of the original engineering staff transferring over at the beginning of 2026. A perpetual license to Improbable’s high-concurrency multiplayer technology came with the deal.
Yuga Labs co-founder Greg Solano described the acquisition as “bringing all the tech and talent under one roof,” noting that in-house ownership of the stack allows for faster movement and greater investment in creator tools.
Solano has since shifted to the chairman role, with former chief product officer Michael Figge stepping in as CEO.
Reaching this point involved a sharp narrowing of focus at Yuga, which divested CryptoPunks, Meebits and Moonbirds. Its 2026 roadmap features Resources, a system designed to introduce land production, crafting and a live in-game economy, built on ApeChain with APE serving as the currency.
The Clubhouse format
Meet at the Clubhouse began life as an X Spaces series before relocating inside Otherside. The debut edition took place in Otherside Bubbles on July 25, and Yuga seized the moment to reveal that the metaverse would become persistent.
The venue was later scaled up by Yuga to accommodate 500 concurrent users — a fivefold jump — alongside direct link generation for hosting meetups. This year’s sessions have taken place Thursdays at 3 p.m. PT, restricted to Club Members.
The framing around the sessions has stayed largely the same. In BAYC’s words, you never know who’ll stop by.
