Shrapnel Hits Early Access on Epic Games

Neon Machine, the game developer behind Shrapnel, has just rolled out early access to its much-talked-about PC game on the Epic Games Store. The company has now released its debut game build to the global gaming audience alongside a select group of 3,000 players who’ve already snagged an Extraction Pack.

Early Birds Catch the Game

STX1 (Shrapnel Training Exercises One) is the name given to the first playtest of a new game. This playtest will give players the opportunity to explore the game’s universe for the first time. The playtest will take place from February 8th to February 10th, with three eight-hour segments available for players to engage with the game. In addition, there will be a prize pool of $100,000 worth of SHRAP tokens available to be won by the most skilled or lucky participants.

STX1 playtest lets gamers play at peak progression, access many weapons & introduce Sigma Wave – the first Sigma ability in the game, powered by vital collectible resource Sigma.

A Glimpse into the Future

As Shrapnel gears up for a full free-to-play (F2P) launch set for 2025 on the Avalanche platform, this early access venture serves a dual purpose. It’s not just about giving players a taste of the action; it’s a critical phase for the development team to gather invaluable data and feedback. Everything from player engagement, favorite maps, and assets to server stability and response times is under scrutiny.
