Smobler Studios Secures $1.2M in a Seed Funding Round Backed by The Sandbox

Smobler Studios Secures .2 Million In Seed Round Backed By The Sandbox

Through its seed funding round, Smobler Studios has successfully secured $1.2 million in funding. Brinc, Enjinstarter and other Venture capital firms participated in the funding round, while it was led by The Sandbox.

Smobler Studios is a metaverse architecture firm co-founded by Dr. Loretta Chen with Ruel Sarmiento. The studio was founded during the pandemic when Sarmiento was play-testing in the metaverse (The Sandbox).

Before that, he discovered the Game Maker Fund to support upcoming projects within The Sandbox metaverse. Both the co-founders used their expertise and master storytelling and conceptualized a colorful exposition space called Cobbleland

The new space brings together different communities, NGOs, and brands where startups and young entrepreneurs can launch their ideas.

“I’m always thinking about how to use our platforms to create more opportunities for diversity, equity inclusion…We are keen to push the boundaries of knowledge to explore the possibilities of virtual spaces and interactions. By harnessing Web3 technology, we support meaningful brands and non-profits and use the metaverse platform for social good,” said Chen.

The Food Bank Singapore and Aventis Graduate School have already onboarded the bandwagon. Aventis Graduate School is the first-ever institute to offer a metaverse-based campus in Asia. It aims to offer low-fee education for the ASEAN nations.
