Starbucks Korea's Ongoing Commitment to Waste Reduction with NFTs

Starbucks Korea has announced its plan to further its sustainability efforts in a unique way. Starting from January 2024, the company plans to introduce an innovative NFT initiative, which will complement its campaign to encourage using personal reusable cups. This initiative marks a new chapter in Starbucks’ commitment to eco-friendly practices.

Innovative NFT Wallet Launch

Starbucks is launching an initiative that involves a new NFT wallet in their app. The wallet will issue NFTs representing eco-friendly consumption, bringing a digital concept to everyday consumer interaction.

Starbucks Korea will reward customers who bring their own cups with an Eco Stamp. By collecting these stamps, customers can get their hands on some unique NFTs.

Collaboration with Local Artists and Exhibition

This initiative also involves a collaboration with Seoul-based Print Bakery (PBG) and artist DADAZ. Together, they will create NFTs featuring artistic renditions of cups and tumblers. Starbucks Korea will host an exhibition at its Jongno R store to further celebrate this initiative, showcasing the NFTs and highlighting the company’s achievements.

Starbucks Korea continues its No Single-Use Cup Day campaign in collaboration with the Korea Zero Waste Movement Network. This monthly event underscores Starbucks’ long-term commitment to reducing waste and fostering sustainable habits in the community.
