You can grab an outfit for Lara Croft today, at no cost, even though her next adventure won’t arrive for months.
The Mediterranean Wetsuit Outfit for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is free to claim right now. You just won’t get to wear it until the game comes out on Feb. 12, 2027.
Claiming the wetsuit
There are two steps. First, make an Amazon Games iD account. Second, connect that account to whichever platform you play on: Steam, PSN or Xbox.
After that, all that’s left is waiting. When the game releases in February, start it up and Lara will have the outfit available from the beginning.
The outfit goes further than a plain wetsuit. It pairs a wetsuit with a swimsuit and adds a tool belt, thigh holsters, a matching backpack and diving goggles. Lara’s hair is tied up in a high ponytail to go with it.
Lara’s new default outfit has already been shown off in glimpses: the tank top, shorts and boots she has worn since the series began. More outfits should unlock as you progress, as they did in the recent Survivor Trilogy. The wetsuit is just the first one up for grabs.
A second remake of the original
Legacy of Atlantis is the second time the first Tomb Raider has been remade. Development is split between Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog, with Amazon Game Studios handling publishing.
The story keeps the original setup, with Lara searching for a powerful relic left behind by the lost civilization of Atlantis. Alix Wilton Regan plays this new version of Lara, and the game starts a new era for the series.
Release came later than planned. The original date was June 2, 2026, until a delay moved it to February. The game is headed to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Catalyst follows
There’s also a brand-new game on the way for anyone who wants more than a remake. Tomb Raider: Catalyst has a 2028 release window for now, with Crystal Dynamics developing and Amazon Game Studios publishing.
It will be the franchise’s 14th main entry and a sequel to Tomb Raider: Underworld from 2008. The setting is Northern India, in a region left in ruins by a mythical cataclysm.
Other treasure hunters will be there too, each trying to exploit the site’s power. Lara will need to figure out who she can trust and head off a second catastrophe before it strikes.
Nothing has been announced yet, but Catalyst could get its own free bonuses as launch approaches. Right now, the free gear belongs to Legacy of Atlantis.
The timing works out well. Tomb Raider is celebrating its 30th anniversary, and you can join in by dressing Lara in a wetsuit with thigh holsters three months before she sets off to find Atlantis.
