The Sandbox SAND $0.05777 ▲ +4.7% (official site) has brought in Xsolla to manage payments and monetization for games made with The Sandbox Studio, the company’s upcoming platform for making games with AI tools. Studio is still unreleased, so players can’t use any of this yet.

Studio games will have two ways to sell items: an external web shop, or purchases made right inside the game. Creators can offer virtual items, in-game currency and subscriptions. Xsolla operates the payment and fulfillment systems that sit behind those sales. According to the two companies, it supports more than 1,000 payment methods and comes with fraud protection.

What it changes for creators

Creators won’t need to build their own store, because the payment tools are part of the development platform. Take a currency pack as an example. Selling one needs a system that takes the payment, confirms the transaction and delivers the currency to the correct player. Xsolla covers that work. The creator’s job is to design the game and pick prices that fit their audience and business model.

The Sandbox's token, SAND, gives players another way to pay. The company says SAND will work for buying in-game currency packs once Studio launches. Its announcement calls this a native feature that runs alongside Xsolla’s services.

How The Sandbox Studio works

Payments are only part of what Studio offers. Creators can build using prompts, templates and code, and they can bring in outside AI tools too. Hosting, authentication and multiplayer come from The Sandbox, and finished games can go out on the web and on Telegram. Browser games built with Studio run on desktop, mobile and tablets.

On The Sandbox’s creator website, Meshy, Scenario and Tripo are listed for generating character assets. Suno and ElevenLabs are listed for music and sound effects.
