The 1.17.8 update for Zeeverse (official site) adds a Halloween event and puts a new Buy tab at the Hoarder. The patch also has quest tweaks, interface changes and bug fixes. Spooky seasonal items arrive with the seasonal event, and the legendary Watcher’s Crescent Axe is one of them.
The Buy tab is for players who lose their starter gear. The Hoarder now sells Bronze tools back to you, so losing them won’t leave you stuck anymore.
Quality-of-life changes
A handful of changes make the game easier to read. Before you buy equipment, you can check its stats from the marketplace or the crafting interface. Clicking an ability in battle brings up its description. The Hoarder also takes Bronze, Iron and Steel Fishing Poles now.
Some quests were adjusted as well:
- The wooden slab in A Longer Ask is more noticeable now, so it’s easier to find.
- The Oath quest still plays as a tracking quest. Its quest tracker marks the area to search but doesn’t reveal the exact route.
- Bark is visible from a greater distance in the Mask of Roots quest.
On the audio side, the tutorial and the Halloween event each get new music.
Bug fixes
Here are the bugs this patch fixes:
- In A Longer Ask, Sori and Pek no longer show the same speaker name in dialogue.
- Entering the dungeon no longer makes your character look like they’re walking through The Well environment object.
- Your character no longer gets teleported back down when running up the hatchery stairs.
- Shamans can no longer clip through terrain because of collision problems.
- Coyote Quest now shows the Level Up Tutorial.
- Once Cragoth is defeated, the boss’s shell stays out of view.
- The Hoarder’s visual Spirit bonus calculation for Mask Bonus now displays the right value.
- In Root of the Problem, the Cure Sickness Potion works at every zoom level instead of only at maximum zoom.
- You can now equip Watcher’s Fang in instanced battles.
- The Klein staff bonus, which auto-sells relics from dungeons, is working again.
