Originally known for amusing images, 9GAG is now diversifying its business to enhance user engagement and value.

CEO and co-founder Ray Chan announced the collaboration, stating that 9GAG will integrate meme culture with Affyn’s game character IPs to introduce limited edition in-game items in the upcoming Buddy Arena game: “9GAG will blend its meme culture with Affyn’s game character IPs to launch a set of limited edition in-game items within its upcoming Buddy Arena game.”

Both companies are focused on community engagement and expanding audiences within the web3 space. Affyn, which raised $20 million in funding in 2022, recently launched Omnia Sync, a multichain gaming ecosystem to enhance user experiences. The partnership with 9GAG allows for creative experimentation in merging communities and expanding Web3 gaming opportunities.
