one store launches ai games section debuting with 20 verse8 built titles In Brief:

In Brief:

  • On Aug. 7, ONE store rolled out AI Games — a tab set aside for AI-generated titles — debuting with 20 games built on Verse8 that play instantly inside the app.
  • Payments flow through ONE store’s own system, with the platform taking on store review, age rating and payment integration on behalf of creators.
  • This is the first release since Nexus acquired control of ONE store in June, and it lands ahead of a planned rebrand of the CROSS mainnet to OneChain.

Twenty titles, no download

ONE store switched on a dedicated AI Games tab on Aug. 7, opening with 20 Verse8-built titles that run in-app with no separate download required. The section is currently live on Android.

Among the launch titles are “Ragnarok Breaker” and “Heros Unite.” The genre mix stretches from idle RPGs to visual novels and 3D shooters.

AI Games has its own tab on ONEstore now.

Transactions never leave ONE store. Rather than sending players to an external checkout, the store’s existing billing system handles in-game currency top-ups and item purchases.

According to ONE store, no other app market has previously carved out a section exclusively for AI-created games.

Coupons start Aug. 11

The launch promotion kicks off Aug. 11. Opening a new game within the tab immediately earns the user a 15% discount coupon, with a cap of 10 coupons apiece.

What Verse8 brings

Coding isn’t part of the process on Verse8. Creators simply describe the game they have in mind in plain language, leaving planning, graphics and gameplay rules to the AI. ONE store refers to this method as “Vibe Coding.”

Roughly 5,000 creators have turned out more than 25,000 games on the platform, which claims 3.5 million monthly active users. Those games had previously been confined to Verse8’s own environment.

That’s the bargain at the heart of the deal. Verse8 supplies the catalog, while ONE store shoulders the store review, age rating classification and payment plumbing that creators would otherwise deal with on their own.

Nexus CEO Jang Hyun-guk said “AI is fundamentally changing how games are developed, and it will enable the creation of hundreds of thousands, even millions, of high-quality games every year.” In his telling, ONE store has become “the world’s first AI game distribution platform,” one that will expand in step with advances in LLM models and the evolution of creators.

The Nexus takeover

Nexus wrapped up its acquisition of ONE store on June 18, picking up an 84.63% stake from SK Square, Naver, Steel Number One First and Krafton for roughly 62.6 billion won. Its total holding stands at 89.03%.

SK Telecom, KT and LG Uplus established ONE store in 2016 together with Naver, positioning it as a homegrown rival to Google Play and the App Store. It comes preinstalled on upwards of 38 million devices.

What Nexus had been missing was distribution. Jang, who led Wemade before coming aboard in January 2025, had already put a mainnet, wallet, exchange and stablecoin payment layer in place — but restrictions from Google and Apple on games featuring blockchain elements, NFTs or built-in wallets force developers to gut that functionality just to clear review.

ONE store signed on as CROSS Protocol’s third validator on July 15, joining H Lab and CertiK in operating node infrastructure on Mainnet 2.0. The CROSS mainnet is set to be renamed OneChain under Nexus, with the $CROSS token becoming $ONE.

Prior ties

The two companies have been collaborating since a partnership signed last year, and jointly ran the CROSS Game Jam in November. In March, Nexus took part in Verse8’s $5 million seed round alongside Story Foundation, NEXPACE, Neowiz, MARBLEX and Solarium Labs.

Verse8 additionally plugs into Story, which puts game assets and derivatives on chain and channels attribution back to the original creators. Moonbirds and Azuki IP are set to arrive on the platform through that setup.

JC Kim and Kevin Lee founded the company. “Just 3 million creators globally produce interactive content, and the top 20 studios control 70% of all production,” Lee said at the time the seed round was announced.
