Armored Mewtwo hasn’t been seen since 2020. This weekend it returns, and it’s sitting in raids from open to close.
That’s the main draw of “Pokémon Go Fest 2026: Mega Finale,” the end-of-summer send-off running Saturday, Sept. 5 and Sunday, Sept. 6, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time on both days. It’s in five-star raids across both days, so there’s no narrow window to build your afternoon around.
What this event actually is
Temper your expectations somewhat. This doesn’t carry the bonus load of the main Go Fest, and it would be a disservice to suggest otherwise.
Where it earns its keep: filling gaps in your Mega Evolution-eligible Pokémon, and banking whatever Mewtwo Mega Energy you’re still missing. If that’s been on the back burner all summer, here’s your chance.
The format is the familiar one. Type-themed habitats swap on the hour, rotating the wild spawns and shuffling the raid lineup along with them.
The bonuses are mostly behind the Go Pass
Nearly everything on the table this weekend is attached to the Go Pass, which arrived earlier this week alongside the “Mega Ascension” event. It’s the same list as before, with nothing extra added.
Two free bonuses sit entirely outside the Go Pass.
Unlocking the Go Pass means completing a short Timed Research and choosing among Mega Chesnaught, Mega Delphox and Mega Greninja. Pick with intent.

Saturday’s habitat rotation
Each day brings four habitats, and each one runs twice for an hour. Mega Mewtwo X occupies Super Mega Raids for the whole of Saturday.

How to spend the weekend
Chespin, Fennekin and Froakie appear in every habitat on both days, so there’s no need to chase them — they’ll find you.
Beyond that, it depends on where your gaps are. Short on Mewtwo Mega Energy? Both Saturday and Sunday give you a Super Mega Raid target for eight uninterrupted hours.
And if 2020 passed you by, or you were around and never managed to catch it, the plan is straightforward. Armored Mewtwo, five-star raids, both days, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Go get it.
