Azuki TCG’s Second Set, Fractured Domains, Lands Nov. 20

azuki tcgs second set fractured domains lands nov 20 In Brief:

In Brief:

  • Fractured Domains (AZK-02), the second Azuki TCG set, has been announced by Azuki Labs with a Nov. 20, 2026 release date.
  • The debut set, Gates Awakened (AZK-01), carried 148 cards and reached retail June 26 on the back of more than $1 million in presale orders.
  • Its timing falls between the opening Garden Arena regional season and the 2027 Azuki Invitational, and sits inside a roadmap calling for four additional sets over 18 months.

A second set is on the way for Azuki TCG. In a post unveiling the expansion, the official Azuki TCG account said Fractured Domains — set code AZK-02 — is dated for Nov. 20, 2026.

The announcement arrived without a card count, pricing, presale window or product configuration. Amplifying it, the main Azuki account offered only one line: “On November 20, you will wield the power of two domains…”

Roughly three weeks before the reveal came a teaser whose entire text was “Something new, coming in set 2…” In the replies, fans guessed the set would revolve around a deck featuring the sisters Rei — who battles under the name Raizan — and Shao. Neither sister is named in the teaser or the announcement.

What set one established

Retail copies of Gates Awakened arrived June 26 with a 148-card lineup: four Leaders, four Gates, a single IKZ resource card, one IKZ token, 54 commons, 33 uncommons, 22 rares, 12 super rares, 15 regular alternate arts, and two portrait rare alternate arts serving as the chase.

A booster display is priced at $119.99 and holds 24 packs of 12 cards each, with six boxes per case. Alongside them came four starter decks at $12.99 apiece — Raizan on Lightning, Shao on Water, Bobu on Earth and Zero on Fire — each containing 63 cards and eight foils.

The presale campaign cleared $1 million. According to Xu, every milestone was reached with two days still on the clock, so all four exclusive promo cards were included with every order placed. Before that, a March 27 community pre-order offered a randomly selected Shao or Raizan Alpha Starter Deck bundled with booster packs and Alpha-stamped cards for $95 in ANIME.

A match takes roughly 20 minutes. Each player assembles a 50-card deck alongside a Leader, a Gate and 10 IKZ cards, then works to reduce the opposing Leader’s HP to zero on a two-row board divided between the Alley and the Garden.

Competitive calendar

November’s date comes on the heels of the game’s first regional season. The inaugural Garden Arena Regional took place Aug. 15 in Pasadena, California, with CoreTCG hosting and $10,000 in cash prizing on the line, plus stamped prize cards, Seasonal Points and 16 invitations to the 2027 Azuki Invitational. The event sold out. Play consisted of eight rounds of best-of-one Swiss, then three rounds of top cut.

Organized play has already required intervention: Rushfire Gate was banned from official Azuki TCG events as of Aug. 18 at 12:01 a.m. PT.

A Midwest Regional is set for the fourth quarter of 2026, though its date, venue, registration details and prizing have yet to be announced.

Xu had previously spelled out the order of events, describing the plan as “regionals this fall, Set 2 later this year, and an invitational tournament in early 2027,” supported by a $100,000 organized play investment. Four more sets across 18 months are planned, per Azuki Labs.

The rest of the IP

Cards aren’t the only release this quarter. On Sept. 8, Azuki Labs said AZUKI — an original manga from Arnold Tsang, formerly character art director on Overwatch — debuts Sept. 17 at 9 a.m. PDT, free on Azuki.com, with fresh chapters landing the third Thursday of every month. A cinematic trailer accompanies chapter one.

Its premise hinges on the very Gates that give the card game its name. After Shao’s sister Rei vanishes beyond them, Shao’s search draws her into a conflict that endangers both worlds.

Authentication, grading and encapsulation services from CGC now cover Azuki TCG cards.

Azuki first revealed it was building a trading card game on Feb. 12, 2025. “5 months ago I wrote about Azuki building a world before the story,” Xu said. “Since then Azuki TCG launched, 300+ players showed up for our first regional, and next month @steamboy33’s manga begins. Azuki is becoming a world you can play, read, collect, and make part of your identity.”
