Avalanche never built a dungeon entrance into the Feldcroft beach, yet one is sitting there now. Step through it and Gaunt Manor is waiting on the other side.
That’s the hook behind a new dungeon mod from a creator who goes by filit_, and for Hogwarts Legacy players it’s the nearest thing to fresh content the game has seen in months.
The family nobody wanted to talk about
Among the ancient pure-blood wizarding families in the Harry Potter universe, the Gaunts stand out for an uncomfortable reason: it was their maternal line that produced Lord Voldemort. Direct descendants of Salazar Slytherin, and fondly remembered by no one.
Neither the books nor the films gave their history much space, which is precisely what makes a mod constructed entirely around their decaying estate worth a look.
“Located near Little Hangleton, where the snakes start to sing,” the official description reads. “Before the manor became increasingly marked by the growing poverty and neglect of the Gaunt family, losing the splendor of more glorious times, it was the impressive family estate of one branch of the direct descendants of Salazar Slytherin. Even in 1890, the first signs of decay could already be seen, but the magic of the powerful family legacy was still palpable.”

What you’re actually doing in there
The house belongs to Ominis’ family, and rather than combat, the mod puts its weight on exploration and discovery. Nothing is trying to kill you. You’re simply rummaging through the wreckage of somebody’s home.
Tucked around the manor are five letters, written to convey the creator’s own interpretation of the Gaunt family. Easter eggs are hidden in there as well, alongside custom designs, custom interiors and decoration worth pausing over.
Photos are an option too. Anyone who’d rather skip a hunt along the Feldcroft shoreline will find the dungeon entrance marked on a Hogwarts Legacy map over on the mod page.

Why modders are carrying this game
Hogwarts Legacy released in 2023 and finished the year as the best-selling game on the market. Then the silence set in. With no post-game content to speak of, it was left in the dust, and a short summer update carrying a handful of cosmetics did little to shift that.
On the official side, nothing has arrived to pull players back. On the unofficial side sits a modding community, and it’s the only reason the Harry Potter RPG has held onto the popularity it still enjoys.

Making the scale of it all the more striking, Gaunt Manor is filit_’s debut dungeon mod, and it costs nothing if you own the game on PC. A way to fill the time while the sequel goes nowhere.
