In Brief:
- Gigaverse (official site) has opened the Burn Pit, a feature that lets players trade in old items for a capped supply of Hard Cores during the Awakening.
- Every eligible item carries its own 300,000 Hard Core pool, and what you take home depends on the share of that item you burned.
- Burning ends October 5, 2026, at 2:00 PM EDT, and Hard Cores go out only after a verification review.
Gigaverse opens the Burn Pit
The Burn Pit is Gigaverse’s newest addition, converting leftover items into Hard Cores — the resource at the center of the ongoing Awakening event. Taking part means burning specific items to claim a cut of a fixed Hard Core pool attached to each one. Every item that qualifies carries its own pool worth 300,000 Hard Cores.
Access is restricted to Juiced players, so a subscription is required to join in. Items must be burned by October 5, 2026, at 2:00 PM EDT. Nothing pays out on the spot — Hard Cores are handed out only once the pit has closed and a review process has run.
Individual pools for each item
Each item in the Burn Pit carries a Hard Core pool that is walled off entirely from the rest. How much a player takes from a given item comes down to how much of that item’s pool they contributed. Burn 10 percent of every Low Crit Oil submitted, for example, and the reward is 10 percent of the item’s 300,000 Hard Cores — 30,000 in total.
At present 154 items qualify for burning, among them gear such as the Crusader Shard and the Archon Silver Ring. Added together, the pools come to 46.2 million Hard Cores. Players can filter the interface down to eligible items they own or have already burned, and it refreshes projected Hard Core totals in real time as burns come in.
Impact of item rarity
Splitting the pools item by item changes the maths considerably. Widely held items draw plenty of burners and thin out each individual share, whereas scarce items leave a smaller group splitting the same pot. A player who burns every existing unit of a rare item walks away with the entire 300,000 Hard Cores.
The live dashboard exists to show where each pool stands, making it clear which items are crowded and which still leave room for a meaningful cut.
Contribution strategy
Once an item is burned the commitment is fixed, yet the Hard Core payout keeps moving right up to the closing bell. What each player ultimately receives is worked out from their burns measured against every burn placed on that item. No position is safe before the deadline, since a fresh wave of burns can reshape shares in a hurry.
Strict rules and timeline
Once the pit shuts, a review checks every burn and confirms Juiced status before anything is paid out. The rules leave little room: participation is Juiced-only, burns cannot be refunded or swapped, and any remainder goes undistributed.
Hard Cores’ role in Awakenings
Hard Cores are the primary currency of the Awakening, the event carrying Gigaverse across to Gigaverse Online. Until now, players have been accumulating them through regular gameplay. The Burn Pit widens that net, turning items left over from past seasons into another route to the resource.
A Giga Juice subscription, roughly 20 USD a month, unlocks the Burn Pit alongside a 4x Hard Core multiplier and extra daily attempts at activities. Hard Core tallies also weigh heavily on the Hall of Noobs leaderboard, whose rewards run to gacha boxes containing USDC and one-off cosmetics.
Growing Gigaverse ecosystem
Gigaverse runs in the browser as a dungeon RPG built on the Abstract Ethereum layer 2, mixing dungeon runs, PvE and PvP, gear crafting and trading via the Gigamarket. Its player count has passed 77,000, with revenue above 5.5 million USD to date.
The wider ecosystem stretches past the game itself to Giglings, NFT mounts that moved 18,000 units for 575,000 USD, plus an assortment of third-party apps. Co-founder Dith describes the ambition as a diversified entertainment model with something on offer for every type of player.
Gigaverse Online is being positioned as the sustainable, broader-reaching next step, which makes the Burn Pit a key piece of how player engagement gets rebuilt. The event stays open until October 5 at 18:00 UTC.
