In Brief:
- Sorare (official site) is running a Clue Hunt event in Game Week 19, October 2 to October 6, built around the Cap 240 format.
- There are separate competitions for three card scarcities (Limited, Rare and Super Rare), and All Star coverage widens the pool of eligible players.
- Prizes are Crafting Clue packages, which feed into the crafting system of the current Sorare 27 season.
Game Week 19 brings the Clue Hunt
The Clue Hunt runs from October 2 to October 6, which lines up with Game Week 19. It also marks the return of Cap 240, a format that asks managers to get the most out of a fixed points budget.
How Cap 240 works
Cap 240 uses each player’s average score as a price. The averages of all five players in a manager’s lineup cannot add up to more than 240 points. Managers therefore need to find underrated players who are likely to beat their usual numbers. That gives managers with deep collections of mid-tier cards a real chance against rosters full of expensive ones.
Because high-value cards don’t automatically come out on top, the format is easier for more managers to get into. Good scouting and smart choices count for more than the size of a collection.
Three competitions by scarcity
The Clue Hunt is split into three competitions, one each for Limited, Rare and Super Rare cards. Keeping the scarcities apart is fairer, since scarcer cards have built-in advantages. All Star coverage means managers can draw on players from every league Sorare licenses, which makes it easier to build a lineup under the 240-point cap.
What Crafting Clues do
Crafting Clue packages are the main prize. In the Sorare 27 crafting feature, managers use clues to learn about unrevealed cards before choosing them. A clue can show a card’s rarity, league or nationality, so managers have more to go on when they craft.
Managers who craft often can win clues in the Clue Hunt instead of paying for them, which gives them more options for less.
The role of crafting in Sorare 27
The current season, Sorare 27, is built around crafting. Managers have moved to a seasonal Essence model, which determines what cards they can craft. New balances were calculated by converting holdings from earlier seasons, and those balances shape both planning and crafting.
Since Sorare 27 began, the game has used five card tiers: Reserve, Roster, Key, Star and Icon. The lower tiers update daily. New leagues added recently give managers more to craft from.
The Clue Hunt runs at the same time as the ongoing European Nations competitions, so managers can enter several formats as the international break ends.
About Sorare
Sorare is a fantasy sports game that uses licensed digital player cards for football, the NBA and MLB. Managers pick lineups and score points based on how the players perform in real matches. Cards come in four scarcities, which supports an active secondary market where managers trade to improve their teams.
The Clue Hunt runs under the 240 cap for all of Game Week 19, from October 2 to October 6.
