The post did not explain how the server was accessed or which accounts or channels were involved. It also did not say whether malicious links had been sent out or whether any players had lost assets.

No confirmation yet

When this article was published, Sunflower Land had not issued a statement responding to the claim. No independent reports of a breach had surfaced either.

For now, the warning comes from one post, and that post is itself cautiously worded. It begins with the word “Apparently.”

Official channels

The project’s documentation names three official points of contact. They are the website at sunflower-land.com, the Discord server at discord.gg/sunflowerland and a support center at sunflower-land.com/support. The documentation also says the community has more than 180,000 members.

The same documentation warns that many scams and fake websites exist and tells players to click only trusted links.

In an earlier warning, the team said impostors had pretended to be Sunflower Land support staff and had asked players directly for access to their wallets. Some large Telegram groups had also presented themselves as support channels even though they had no link to the project. Those groups asked members to connect their wallets or give up their seed phrases.

The team said it communicates only through its official channels.

Bots and fake accounts in 2022

Attackers have used fake community accounts against the project before.

In August 2022, Sunflower Land developer Adam Hannigan wrote in a GitHub discussion that the game had handed out more than 2,000 automatic bans after a botter tried to drain SFL from it. He said the attackers set up hundreds of fake Discord and Twitter accounts.

Hannigan said the fake accounts slowed down the team’s review of appeals from players who said they had been banned by mistake.

Background

Sunflower Land is made by Thought Farm Pty Ltd, a company based in Sydney, Australia. The game runs on Polygon.

In 2025, the $FLOWER token replaced the original SFL token. The studio has also announced Project II, a codename for a separate browser game that will use $FLOWER. It is targeting a 2026 release.

When this article was published, cagy’s two-line post was still the only public account of the incident.
