There are now two fresh routes to free skins in KOMPETE. According to the game’s official account, both the October Ticket and Fame Season 11 launched this week.
Posting on X, the account wrote: “Two ways to earn free skins in KOMPETE just dropped!”
Two ways to earn free skins in KOMPETE just dropped!
October Ticket: 15 exclusive spooky rewards. Claim it free from the main menu. Ends Oct 31.
Fame Season 11: 20 exclusive rewards for KOMPETE's top grinders. Climb the ranks now. Ends Dec 31.@KOMPETEView on X ↗
October Ticket lasts until Halloween
The account described the October Ticket’s 15 items as “exclusive spooky rewards.” The ticket costs nothing and can be claimed directly from the main menu.
With an end date of Oct. 31, players have roughly four weeks to complete it.
Fame Season 11 stretches to the end of the year
Of the two tracks, Fame Season 11 runs longer. Its 20 rewards are, in the account’s words, “for KOMPETE’s top grinders.”
The account urged players to “Climb the ranks now,” noting that the season wraps up on Dec. 31.
Fame serves as KOMPETE’s XP rank system, granting free in-game rewards as players advance. The studio has summed up the ladder simply: everyone begins as a Scrub, and only a handful make it to Goat.
How the reward tracks fit together
Both the KOMPETE Ticket and Fame rewards date back to the game’s early Early Access builds. In the v0.15 patch notes, the developers said more than 60 cosmetics were ready to go, which was enough to fill the first season of both the KOMPETE Ticket and Fame rewards.
Earning cosmetics is just one way to get skins. KOMPETE also offers a Limited-Time Shop and a Divine Shop, where items can be bought with Ethereum and the in-game currency $VOOLAH. Over in the Bazaar marketplace, players use the $KOMPETE token to buy, sell and trade cosmetics.
The studio has made the web3 layer optional. Describing the model as a cross-economy, it lets players skip the token side completely while still collecting rewards through Fame and the Ticket.
Background
KOMPETE is developed by Modernize Games, which is based in La Jolla, California. Justin Meister started the studio in September 2020, and according to the studio, he was frustrated at spending $70 a year on NBA 2K games that didn’t work well.
Built on Unreal Engine 5, KOMPETE is free to play and supports cross-play. A single main menu lets players hop between games with one avatar across modes such as Blitz Royale, Kart Race, Golf and Social Deduction.
KOMPETE launched in Early Access on the Epic Games Store on Oct. 16, 2023, and is playable on PC, iOS and Android.
The fact that this is Season 11 shows how long the Fame system has been around. The rank names are the same as ever: players start out as a Scrub, and only a few will end the season as a Goat.
