The post named two titles: “Complete weekly quests in Mission Control, plan your strategy in Mercenary,” it said. The second refers to Mercenary Battlegrounds, a tower defense game built by the community.
What’s on the roster
Five community games and experiences appear on the Alien Worlds website. One is Mayhem: Alien Worlds, a turn-based tactics game for iOS and Android. Its listing reads: “Build your squad using characters from Alien Worlds lore and battle it out in destructible arenas.”
Outlaw Troopers X AW Drone Racing is a browser racer that is free to play. Players race drones and use Alien Worlds NFTs to compete for places on the leaderboard.
Battlefleet Armageddon, an auto-battler from Mercury Forge, has players assemble fleets and fight space battles for Trilium and NFT rewards. Work on it began in early 2023.
Mercenary Battlegrounds, available on Steam, is a tower defense strategy game with multiplayer modes and NFT staking. Players who stake crew.worlds NFTs unlock towers themed around Alien Worlds.
According to the listing, the fifth entry has not launched yet. Alien Legends by Mission Control, a strategy game built by the community, is scheduled to launch in Q3 2026.
Trilium on the line
Most of the tokens handed out through Arena games come from tournaments. During Q1 2025, players collected more than 1 million Trilium from competitive tournaments in Milky Way Miner, Battlefleet Armageddon, Mercenary Battlegrounds, Outlaw Troopers, Meta Battler and AlienHelpers. That total is for all six games combined.
In late 2025, Mercenary Battlegrounds held a tournament series of its own. At the time, Alien Worlds said: “Mercenary Battlegrounds tournaments are live with six weeks of Trilium rewards ahead.”
Development funding comes from Galactic Hubs. The program awards grants throughout the year to teams creating games, tools and events in Alien Worlds. It has also backed non-gaming projects, such as the Starblind webcomic.
Mission Control’s role
Mission Control has been around longer than most of the other titles. The Alien Worlds site describes it as a weekly quest game in which players earn a share of a Trilium prize pool for participating.
Its creator is Mirko, a longtime community member and Syndicate Custodian. Every time players earn NFT Points in Alien Worlds, they also earn them in Mission Control. Those points go toward the weekly TLM prize pool and toward Experience.
To increase their share of the pool, players can complete quests in partner games. A quest might involve winning a race, playing a battle or something completely different.
The platform has expanded since then. Adventures let players send NFTs off to complete objectives. A new adventure opens every 24 hours and lasts 25 hours, and an NFT sent on one cannot mine or join another adventure until it ends. In Outpost Builder, players use their NFTs to build outposts and gather resources for MC Points. The team has also been developing its own mining interface with support from Galactic Hubs.
Mission Control has a governance side as well. The Shards players earn carry Voting Power, which they can use to support candidates in the Syndicate elections on Eyeke, Naron and Neri.
In an interview published by Alien Worlds, Mirko explained the original concept. “Mission Control is a weekly questing system, which gives other games on WAX an easy way to collaborate with Alien Worlds,” he said.
