In Brief:
- The v0.93 update for KOMPETE KOMPETE $0.001311 ▲ +2.5% is out on PC, iOS and Android. It doubles the Sunrise Greens golf course to a full 18 holes that play to par 72.
- Club sets are no longer single items. Players now get separate Driver, Irons and Putter pieces that they can combine in the locker. The update also brings golf gloves for all 16 club sets and 22 golf effects.
- Other changes include a Boardwalk map for Coin Pusher and a Blitz Royale safe zone that starts closing eight seconds into a match. The patch also has a long list of fixes, many of them for mobile.
Sunrise Greens, the only golf course in KOMPETE, has gained a back nine.
In an Oct. 4 post on X, the KOMPETE account announced that the v0.93 update had reached PC, iOS and Android and that Sunrise Greens is now a complete 18-hole layout. The patch notes say the extra holes bring “a lake, bunkers and ridges.” The scorecard now shows separate totals for the front nine and the back nine.
A new KOMPETE update just hit on PC, iOS, and Android! Here's what's new:
Sunrise Greens goes 18 holes: a new back nine with a lake, bunkers and ridges, plus fresh commentary
Mix and match clubs: Driver, Irons and Putter are separate items now with skin slots, plus new@KOMPETEView on X ↗
The course also plays differently now. Drives are capped at a maximum distance. Holes that players could previously reach with a single drive have been lengthened, and the full course plays to par 72.
Clubs split into three slots
Each club set used to be one item. The update divides every set into separate Driver, Irons and Putter items, so players can combine clubs from different sets in the locker.
Golf gloves have been added for all 16 club sets. There are also 22 new golf effects, which include ball trails, landing rings and putt lines. In its X post, the team said these items are “all soon to be added to the store.”
New commentary and course dressing
Golf has new commentary for the back nine and for full rounds. According to the patch notes, commentary “lines that got facts wrong were rewritten.”
Each hole now has a sign showing its number, par and yardage, and the tee markers have been replaced. The flags now wave in the wind. A new flyover introduces the course, and it is no longer skipped the first time a player loads in. When a round ends, the golf theme plays over the final scorecard and the commentators sign off.
Mobile players can now aim left and right in camera preview by dragging on the right side of the screen. The patch fixes a brief freeze at the start of Hole 1 and a bug on iPhone that hid the ball’s landing circle. Drag aiming also no longer jumps on the first touch.
Boardwalk comes to Coin Pusher
Coin Pusher has a new map called Boardwalk, set in a pier arcade with a Ferris wheel. A new intro shows the player’s character standing at the machine.
The patch notes call the map “not the Arcade, just something fun we made while testing new level pipelines.”
Coins now slide across the board instead of flipping over, and picking them up has its own sound. New boards start with coins laid out in a neat grid and a teddy bear prize. The update also fixes a bug that made dropped coins disappear once the board was full. Boards can now hold many more coins, and every one of them is saved.
Blitz Royale gets faster
In Blitz Royale, the safe zone now starts closing eight seconds into a match. A “ZONE CLOSING IN” countdown and a warning sound come with it. Loot dropped by eliminated players now stays on the map for the rest of the match.
Other Blitz Royale fixes deal with prison doors that opened onto solid walls and with loot safes that were sealed off or floating. Parked cars on Mahzookoo no longer cause phantom explosions. Reviving a teammate also no longer cancels if the player looks away while holding the button.
Loading and mobile fixes
Across the game, matches now load faster behind the loading screen. Players should no longer get stuck on the LOADING PROFILE screen during sign-in, including when they sign in on a second device or reopen the game quickly. Settings now has a Character Voices volume slider, and it also controls emote voice lines.
Some of the fixes apply only to mobile. They stop characters and the lobby from turning gray on some iPhones and iPads, and they keep lobby music from going silent after a player leaves the app and comes back.
Kart Race received three fixes. The lap timer now stops when a racer finishes. Laps driven for a player after they finish no longer count toward their stats. The wrong-way warning sound works again.
Background
KOMPETE is developed by Modernize Games in Unreal Engine 5. It is free to play and offers Blitz Royale, Kart Race, Golf and Coin Pusher modes, all on one shared account across PC and mobile.
Before this update, the KOMPETE Golf page described Sunrise Greens at Solaris Country Club as a nine-hole, par 35 course. It measured 2,996 yards and had 12 sand bunkers. The course is on Mahzookoo North, the same island used in the rest of KOMPETE.
The v0.93 patch notes are dated Oct. 3, five days after v0.92, which was dated Sept. 28.
The notes end with the warning the studio adds to every release: “This is an Early Access build. Things will definitely be broken. We push fast and hard.”
