fight night returns ea sports confirms a new boxing game 15 years after champion "To everyone who stayed in our corner: Fight Night is coming back. 🥊♥️"

“To everyone who stayed in our corner: Fight Night is coming back. 🥊♥️”

EA Sports said nothing more than that. The publisher confirmed a brand-new Fight Night entry with a single poster and that one line of text, posted to the series’ official social media accounts.

Fans picked it up fast. Within hours, the post on X had more than 94,000 likes and 4.1 million views, a sign of how many players were still waiting by the ropes.

The longest gap between rounds

Fight Night Champion was the last release in the series. It launched in North America on March 1, 2011, and in Europe on March 4, 2011.

No new Fight Night has arrived in the 15 years since. Players have asked for one the entire time, and EA’s line about staying in its corner speaks directly to them.

Why people still care

Among EA Sports’ boxing games, Fight Night is one of the most recognized names. It brought the sport to consoles with sharp visuals, realistic movement and tough fights in the ring.

Fight Night 2004 kicked off the series in 2004, with the aim of making boxing feel as close to the real sport as it could.

Its main hook was the controls. Punches were thrown with the analog sticks, so players couldn’t rely on buttons alone. That made fights more technical and harder to master, and mashing got you nowhere.

Tyson, Ali and a story mode

Fight Night Round 3 followed in 2006, then Fight Night Round 4 in 2009. The biggest of them was Fight Night Champion in 2011.

Across those releases, players could fight as legends such as Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali. Champion also drew attention for its cinematic story mode.

EA hasn’t revealed any details beyond the poster. So far, the announcement is the poster, a boxing glove and a heart emoji.
