Yuga Labs, the team behind Bored Ape Yacht Club, has announced a major upgrade to its Otherside Metaverse, introducing AI-powered world-building tools, new game experiences, and easier content creation for users.
At the heart of the update is a new set of AI tools designed to help users create 3D virtual environments without writing code. Built into the Otherside Development Kit (ODK), the tools are powered by an AI assistant called Koda Agent.

Players can now type natural commands like “make the sky blue” or “add trees,” and the AI makes these changes instantly. This opens up game design to a wider audience, including those without technical skills.
In addition to the tools, nearly 1,000 digital assets from 29 Otherdeed Biomes will be unlocked in July, expanding creative options for developers and players alike.
New Games and Player Incentives
Otherside will also launch new gaming experiences, beginning with Bathroom Blitz, a fast-paced 8v8 shooter created using the ODK. Players can earn Voyager XP by participating, a points system that tracks activity and unlocks future rewards. Later in July, a refreshed Clubhouse space will open to the public with support for up to 500 users and direct invitation links, making it easier to host events and community meetups.
In August, Yuga Labs will launch Otherside Outbreak, a large-scale event aimed at testing how well the platform handles real-time interaction with many players. This, too, will reward users with XP.
To support content creation further, Yuga Labs will roll out new, easy-to-use tools for Otherdeed holders. These tools allow users to design in-game items like graffiti, emotes, and stickers, while still protecting creator rights and ensuring royalty payments.

Focus on Core Projects
As part of its long-term strategy, Yuga Labs has shifted focus to Otherside and Bored Ape Yacht Club. Earlier in 2025, it sold several NFT collections, including Moonbirds and Meebits, to focus resources on its metaverse development. This strategic move follows milestones like Project Dragon, a multiplayer test that brought over 2,100 players onto one server—setting a Guinness World Record.
