Botanix has launched its mainnet with a full integration of Chainlink’s interoperability and data infrastructure to support the growth of Bitcoin-based decentralized finance (BTCFi).
The partnership brings Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), Data Feeds, and Data Streams to the Botanix blockchain, aiming to offer developers a secure and scalable foundation for building next-generation Bitcoin applications.
Chainlink Becomes Botanix’s Core Infrastructure
With this move, Chainlink becomes the official cross-chain and data layer for Botanix. Chainlink’s infrastructure allows Botanix developers to securely access offchain data and transfer assets across multiple blockchains without relying on centralized bridges. This is made possible through CCIP, which enables safe token transfers and communication between blockchain networks.
The collaboration also brings Chainlink Data Feeds and Data Streams into play, offering real-time, reliable market data to support BTCFi protocols. These tools are essential for delivering accurate pricing and executing decentralized applications that require low-latency, high-performance data environments.
Secure Token Transfers and Programmable Interactions
One of CCIP’s key features is its ability to move tokens across blockchains through Cross-Chain Tokens (CCTs). Developers can use audited token pool contracts to convert any ERC-20 compatible token into a cross-chain token without modifying the original token contract. Additional security tools such as rate limits and smart execution controls are included to prevent issues during network congestion or volatility.
Another advanced function is programmable token transfers. This feature lets developers attach logic to token transfers so that a receiving smart contract can automatically process tokens with specific instructions. This supports more complex and coordinated transactions across multiple parties and chains within a single action.
Enhancing BTCFi with Real-Time Data
The integration of Chainlink Data Feeds provides Botanix developers with secure access to external market data, a critical component for any financial application. As Bitcoin-based DeFi continues to scale, reliable pricing and financial data become essential.
To support faster and more responsive applications, Botanix also uses Chainlink Data Streams. This technology delivers low-latency, high-frequency data updates, helping BTCFi platforms mimic the speed of centralized exchanges while retaining blockchain-level transparency.
