Sky Mavis Enhances Axie Infinity: Terrariums with New Update
Sky Mavis has introduced Version 1.1 of Axie Infinity: Terrariums just two weeks after rolling out this innovative land-based earning mechanism. This update is vital, incorporating various assets from the Axie ecosystem into the gameplay to enrich the player experience and expand reward structures.
Integrating Ecosystem Assets
The primary feature of the update is the broadened scope of elements that contribute to the Atia’s Flame score, which is paramount in calculating each plot’s entitlement to bAXS rewards. In addition to the previously included Axies, the game now factors in accessories, evolved Axie parts, and land items. Evolved parts boost the Flame score based on their rarity, while accessories scale the rewards depending on their rarity and the characteristics of the Axie wearing them. Also, players can now add up to eight land items per plot which not only enhances the visual appeal but also increases both Flame and AXP earning potentials, especially with rarer items providing larger boosts.
Novel Features and Financial Impact
Fortune Slips have also been introduced, offering players a 10% Atia’s Flame buff for 24 hours. The activation cost varies, depending on the rarity of the land, thereby adding another layer of strategy to the gameplay.
From a financial perspective, Terrariums has demonstrated impressive initial performance. Within the first week after launch, approximately 3.32 billion Lunium was sold, generating $95,753 in revenue through ETH, USDC, AXS, or bAXS. Activation rates are high, with 52.8% of the 16,886 land plots being activated and locked, which further contributed to $520,551 in collectible trading volume and $193,316 in land transaction volumes.
Upcoming Enhancements and Future Outlook
On the horizon, Sky Mavis plans to implement a quality-of-life update on July 2, focused on allowing local Lunium to regenerate while using Global Lunium. This is intended to reduce costs associated with Global Lunium uses and enhance the game’s reward system interface.
As Axie Infinity: Terrariums transitions from a simple passive earning system to a more integrated gameplay layer, these updates mark significant advancements in fulfilling the broader vision for the game. Although it is not fully realized as a complete land game yet, the continual evolution of Version 1.1 and subsequent updates will be crucial in integrating the Axie economy and delivering on the promise of engaging and meaningful land gameplay.
