Electronic Arts has announced that the Battlefield 6 Open Beta reached over 500,000 concurrent players on Steam, setting a new record for the franchise on the platform.
The peak of 521,079 players places the beta ahead of Call of Duty’s all-time Steam high of 491,670, signaling strong interest ahead of the game’s full release.
A Record-Breaking Test Run
The milestone makes Battlefield 6 one of the biggest Steam spikes of the year. While both Battlefield and Call of Duty have significant player bases outside Steam, this result highlights high demand for Battlefield’s return to large-scale, class-based combat on PC.
Developed by DICE and published by Electronic Arts, Battlefield 6 is a first-person shooter built for next-gen consoles and high-end PCs. It focuses on massive, team-based battles in destructible environments and brings back fan-favorite modes like Conquest and Breakthrough. The game features improved visuals, refined mechanics, and a more grounded approach to combat.
Upcoming Beta Dates and Launch Plans
The beta is split into two public windows: August 9–10 and August 14–17. Players who complete specific challenges during the beta can earn cosmetic rewards that carry over to launch. The full release of Battlefield 6 is set for October 10, with multiple editions available for pre-order on the Steam store.
