Decentraland allows players to interact in a virtual world where players can buy lands, trade them, and build things on their property. Boson Protocol will build a virtual shopping mall in Vegas City, a popular district in the Decentraland game.
Talking about the newly opened virtual shopping mall with Decrypt, Boson Protocol’s co-founder Justin Banon stated:
“It’s going to be a mall that’s going to connect one end into Decentraland and other ends into various real-world retail, creating a connection between the metaverse and the real-world.”
Players can go to the virtual mall and shop for sneakers, clothes, or any other item from many global brands. In addition, items purchased from the virtual mall or earned by playing the game could be reclaimed for real-life physical products.
For instance, if someone purchases or earns a digital pair of sunglasses on the Decentraland virtual world, can redeem them from a physical shop of the particular brand by scanning a unique NFT-certified barcode from their phone. This is an innovative concept and can transform the multiverse experience.
Bonson Protocol also plans to bring bars, lounges, and nightclubs to the virtual world in the future. Such a thing might be possible, however, it depends on how successful they are in integrating virtual and real-life experiences together with their virtual shopping mall.
About Boson Protocol
Boson Protocols was founded in March 2019. It aims to provide a De-Fi infrastructure for blockchain transactions and records, with a mission to innovate the traditional e-com industry by using NFTs. NFTs represent real-life items available in stores, and through smart contracts, the money is put in escrow safely. This means there are no intermediaries, and the process is totally trustless and decentralized.
Decentraland is a virtual reality game on the Ethereum blockchain where players can monetize digital lands and explore the virtual worlds with game avatars. There many types of tokens in the games: NFTs like LAND plots and wearables and MANA. LAND is a non-fungible ERC721 token representing plots in the game world, while MANA is the native ERC-20 token used to purchase these plots and perform other in-game transactions.
