In Brief:

  • Cambria (official site) has started minting 4,096 Founding Charter NFTs on Ethereum, which is phase one of Cambria Genesis.
  • Minting for the 512 invitation-only Viceroy Charters opened on October 7. Founding Citizens on an allowlist will be able to mint the rest of the Charters after that.
  • Ben, who leads the project, confirmed that a $RSGP token and an incentivized testnet are planned but gave no dates for either.

Cambria Genesis begins with a new NFT mint

Cambria has started minting 4,096 Founding Charter NFTs on Ethereum. The mint is part of the game’s move away from its seasonal Gold Rush format and toward a persistent MMORPG under the Cambria Genesis banner. The first phase covers 512 Viceroy Charters, which are available by invitation only and began minting on October 7. Founding Citizens on an allowlist will be able to mint the other 3,584 Charters. Cambria has not yet announced prices for either tier.

According to Ben, the project’s lead, the Charter mint comes first. The $RSGP token will launch after it, and an incentivized testnet with a bug bounty will follow the token. Neither milestone has a date yet.

The game’s current format launched on May 21, 2026, through Abstract, which is set to shut down in December. That version is a risk-to-earn dungeon crawler with a small number of seasonal events. It has reported more than $43 million in cumulative game volume, a total that includes in-game credit recycled from round to round.

Transition to Genesis

Cambria announced the move to Genesis on September 15. It also introduced the Cambria Foundation, which it said would “steward and grow the Cambria protocol.” In a Discord AMA, Ben described Genesis as an effort to build “the first nation-scale game economy.”

The Genesis website says Charters are central to unlocking full earnings. Holders can enter advanced zones, receive NFT loot drops and earn Royal Favor, a points system that converts into $RSGP. To earn, holders must stake their Charters to in-game Venues.

Charter traits will be revealed after the mint. Each Charter will have one of eight Houses, a home city and role affinities. Charters can be traded once the traits are revealed.

Charter access and treasury mechanics

Allowlist spots are awarded through a scoring system. It looks at each player’s history in Cambria and at their wallet activity on other chains.

Cambria says all Charters will live on Ethereum, along with existing assets such as the 3,333 Island NFTs. The chain for the $RSGP token has not been decided yet.

In Genesis, players deposit USDC, which converts one-to-one into Energy for use in gameplay. Energy goes into a shared betting pool that covers different encounters. Players come back with Gold, which represents a claim on that pool. Cashing out through a Realm Gate carries an exit fee, and Cambria also takes a fee on every transaction.

The betting pool is held in a one-to-one reserve. Cambria will also run a treasury funded by several fees. All mint proceeds will go into a starting prize pool, which is split into two funds. The Crown fund pays yields to staked Charters and seeds new prize pools. The $RSGP fund supports token liquidity at launch and pays for revenue-funded lootboxes for token holders.

“We’re building the infrastructure for a player-driven economy,” Ben said.
