Crypto.com has received Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) registration from Argentina’s National Securities Commission (CNV).
This approval allows the cryptocurrency exchange to provide fully regulated products and services in the country. Following the new regulations introduced on March 14, the company also plans to work with the CNV to obtain a full operating license.
Bringing Localized Crypto Services to Argentina
As part of its expansion, Crypto.com will roll out localized offerings through its app. The platform had already introduced ARS fiat wallet services in 2022, making it easier for Argentine users to buy and sell digital assets. A survey conducted by Crypto.com found that nearly 46% of Argentine respondents see crypto debit card spending as important, while 57% said they are likely to invest in cryptocurrency within the next year.
This regulatory milestone adds to Crypto.com’s efforts in Latin America. In November 2024, the company introduced its Crypto.com Visa Card in the region. Additionally, in February 2024, it partnered with BTG Pactual, a leading Latin American investment bank, further strengthening its position in the market.
