Decentraland Introduces Emotes Contest with a Community Twist

Decentraland, a major player in the metaverse, recently unveiled an Emotes Contest tailored specifically for its community members. The contest, initiated on August 14th, is a four-week campaign that forms part of the wider Emotes program aimed at enhancing user interaction within the virtual realm.

Contest Specifics and Participation Guidelines

Aimed exclusively at creators within Decentraland’s space, the Emotes Contest encourages the design of in-game characters that reflect the essence of the community. To be eligible, all entries must be officially approved and posted before the contest deadline.

Furthermore, all rewards resulting from this contest will be automatically transferred to the creators’ designated wallet addresses associated with their respective Emotes on the Marketplace. Hence, for a smoother process, participants are advised to list their Emotes on the platform.

Timeline and Submission Details

The contest, set to commence on August 28th, offers a tight window of participation. Prospective entrants have until 7:00 AM UTC on September 5th to present their designs. The correct procedure requires entrants to fill out a specified Google Form to ensure their submission is duly recognized.

Incentives and Usage Rights

A significant perk to draw potential creators is the promise of a refund of up to $120 in $MANA currency. This refund is applicable only on one of the initial Emotes that participants release, regardless of the number they opt to publish. However, a key term to note is that by entering their designs into the contest, participants automatically grant Decentraland the authority to utilize these Emotes for marketing and other promotional activities.
