Earn Miles Using Your NFTs With Etihad Airways

Etihad Airways, the United Arab Emirates’ leading airline, has taken a revolutionary step in broadening its customer loyalty and rewards programs. The company recently announced that it will allow customers to earn air miles by staking their Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) from the EY-ZERO1 collection.

This innovative scheme, part of a newly-released, 300-edition expansion of Etihad’s EY-ZERO1 NFT collection, gives NFT owners the unique chance to secure their digital assets in return for air miles. This limited-edition release is the eleventh 3D aircraft model included in the EY-ZERO1 NFT range, first launched in July 2022.

The latest NFTs in the collection are designed to reflect the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and are emblazoned with branding from the newest Mission Impossible movie, “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.” This partnership with the film franchise lends an exciting allure to these digital collectibles, making them desirable assets for film fans and aviation buffs alike.

Benefits Beyond Flying

Etihad’s original EY-ZERO1 collection provided holders with a range of special perks such as a one-year Etihad Silver Tier status and invitations to a special event at the Yas Marina Circuit Formula 1 race. The upcoming collection promises even more benefits. These include a 12-month Etihad Guest Silver Tier Status, priority check-in, a 25% boost in earning Etihad Guest Miles, lounge access at Abu Dhabi International Airport, membership to the Etihad: Virtual Club, and more.

Introducing the Horizon Club

Etihad Airways is set to launch its new Web3 loyalty program, the “Horizon Club,” in September. The initiative will offer a staking-for-miles feature, enabling members to secure their NFTs and earn Etihad Guest Miles. These miles can then be redeemed for flights, seat upgrades, and other exclusive advantages.

This innovative NFT initiative is a partnership between Etihad Airways and Arcube, a company specializing in tokenizing real-world assets. The new rewards scheme allows customers to transact with traditional credit cards or cryptocurrencies, thanks to infrastructure company Crossmint.

Etihad Airways’ novel approach marks a significant shift in how companies can utilize digital collectibles and blockchain technology to enhance customer loyalty programs, creating a unique fusion of digital and real-world experiences.
