Tezos’ Layer-2 solution, Etherlink, has expanded its gaming portfolio with the launch of two strategic titles: Pikes Arena and Cricket Champions.

It is worth noting that the Tezos blockchain hosted over 11 active games and 180,000 wallet addresses in the past month.

Pikes Arena: Competitive PvP With Real Rewards

Pikes Arena offers fast-paced, tactical player-versus-player battles where participants gather resources, outmaneuver rivals, and compete for prizes. The game features three modes:

  • Warm-up mode for free-to-play skill building
  • Pike mode with PIKE$ token rewards and airdrop eligibility
  • Tez (XTZ) mode where players wager cryptocurrency in matches

The title integrates Sequence’s account abstraction smart wallet and Sequence Builder tools, allowing players to transition smoothly from Web2 to Web3 without complex onboarding.

Cricket Champions: Bringing Cricket to Blockchain

Cricket Champions is the first strategy collectible card game dedicated to cricket, combining card-based tactics with blockchain features. Players can collect and upgrade cricket-themed cards, compete in PvP battles, and take part in progressive campaigns. The game also plans to host esports tournaments and championships at college, city, and national levels, aiming to attract cricket’s vast global audience, particularly in India, through Etherlink’s accessible Web3 framework.

Expanding the Etherlink Gaming Ecosystem

These launches build on Etherlink’s recent gaming momentum. Highlights include:

  • Distinct Possibility Studios raising $30.5 million for the AAA shooter Reaper Actual
  • TapNation launching Athletic Rush on Tezos after 1 billion total mobile downloads
  • Uranium Miner reaching 180,000 monthly active users in its first season
  • Sugarverse preparing to onboard its 60 million Web2 users into Web3 with a new title
  • Integrations with launchpads OpenPad and GameFi to support early-stage blockchain gaming projects

Efe Kucuk, Head of Gaming at Trilitech, said the results show the success of Tezos’ strategy: combining user acquisition support, funding, and product expertise to help innovative games grow in Web3.
