The developers of Fantasy Top are raising the stakes for Season 5 with what they describe as the game’s most ambitious update yet. A new league, rebalanced prizes, and fresh competitive structures are being introduced to keep the browser-based strategy game engaging as players build fantasy teams around popular influencers from platform X.
Introduction of the Platinum League
One of the most significant changes is the creation of the Platinum League, positioned between the Gold and Diamond leagues. It features a prize pool of 4.20 ETH, with the winner receiving 0.4 ETH. This league allows only three Epic cards and one Legendary card, with a salary cap set at 25 Stars. Rewards in this tier extend to nearly 1,000 players, offering ample incentive for mid-level competitors to climb higher.
The Diamond League, formerly known as the Elite League, is now regarded as the pinnacle of competition. In this league, rewards are skewed toward the top, with the first-place winner receiving 1 ETH. The top 99 participants can share a prize pool of 6.20 ETH, while an additional 799 players will receive Fragments and FAN points.
Changes in the Other Leagues
Adjustments are also being made in the lower leagues. The Gold League’s winner will now earn 0.3 ETH from its 4.20 ETH pool, while the Silver League offers 0.25 ETH to its champion and distributes 3.20 ETH among the top 299 finishers. The Bronze League has received a boost, with the leading player awarded 0.18 ETH and an expanded prize pool for the top 399 finishers. The Reverse League, which was introduced as an experimental format, will no longer include ETH rewards but will continue to distribute Fragments and FAN points.
Additional Earning Opportunities
Starting in Season 5, the developers have confirmed that 6 ETH will be added to the prize pool each season, along with 100,000 Fragments allocated for the Burn Wave leaderboard. They also hinted at new game modes and additional sponsored rewards from major projects, although specific details have not yet been disclosed.
Balancing Rewards Based on Player Feedback
The restructured leagues are a result of lessons learned from previous seasons and community feedback. According to the team, the goal is to create a more balanced environment that caters to both casual players and serious competitors. Higher tiers now feature more top-heavy rewards, while lower leagues offer broader participation with flatter distributions.
How Fantasy Top Works
Fantasy Top has carved a niche for itself by combining card-based gameplay with the activities of real-world crypto influencers. Each card represents an influencer from platform X, and in-game performance reflects their online engagement. Players assemble five-card decks, subject to rarity restrictions and Star limits, and compete for ETH, Fragments, and FAN points.
Fragments serve as a premium currency used to purchase card packs, while FAN points function as governance tokens. ETH remains the primary competitive prize in the upper leagues, although developers have decided to exclude it from the Reverse League starting this season.
For those not ready to dive into the on-chain version, a free-to-play mode is available. This mode allows users to collect non-NFT Heroes, complete quests, and participate in short tournaments to earn XP and card chests.
