Fishing Frenzy, the browser-based fishing game, has launched Season 2: New Horizons with new features, a limited-time zone, and more rewards for players.

The season began on June 12 and will run for 10 weeks, offering players additional ways to earn NFTs, Horizon Points, and compete for exclusive in-game items.

At the heart of the update is Bloom Lagoon, a new fishing zone available from June 12 to June 26. This area lets players catch 16 types of fish, collect 7 limited pets, and use special recipes. Some pets were developed in collaboration with popular web3 projects such as Fableborne, Pirate Nation, and Pixels, making the zone a crossover hub for the web3 gaming community.

Upgraded Items and Mechanics

Season 2 introduces new chest and rod NFTs. Pioneer chests now contain more valuable items like sushi, gold, and rods, though they’re less common than before. Players can also find Lucky Chests, which can be opened at the end of the season for extra rewards. New fishing rods now include a “luck” feature that boosts the chance of getting special rewards but slightly lowers the chance of catching rare fish. The Horizon Rod is available to returning players who spent 20 RON in Season 1 or hold a special Founders Pass.

Leaderboards and Battle Pass Changes

To improve fairness and reduce bots, the team has reworked its leaderboard system. VIP1 and VIP2+ players now compete in separate pools. Leaderboard points have been increased, while the battle pass rewards have been adjusted. The new battle pass costs 25 RON and includes pets of various rarities, new chests, and extra items for active players.

Horizon Points are a key part of this season. Players can earn them through gameplay, leaderboards, quests, and the battle pass. These points will determine each player’s share of upcoming rewards, though exact details remain undisclosed. Frenzy Points from the first season have been preserved along with referral and VIP bonuses.

How to Join the Season

Fishing Frenzy is free to play on web and mobile browsers. Players can cast their line, catch fish, and sell them for gold, which is used to buy energy-restoring items like sushi. With daily quests, exclusive NFTs, and new seasonal rewards, the game invites both new and returning players to earn more than ever before.
